Man, I am lonely here in the heartland. One of these days we need to orchestrate a Hillbilly Jam for TIGSters in the southern parts of the country :D

(I wish I still lived in Seattle Sad)

Yeah, I was hoping to host a massive TIGConf/TIGJam, but maybe I'll punt for next year.

Well, now there's additional time to sort out things like venue.  We can start planning for next year, mid summer?

A massive TIGConf would probably need more head's up...

Personally, I feel like I'd need at least 6 months notice to know if I can fly down for something.

But fuck, it'd be awesome. Let's do it sooner than later?

As a quick update--we're going to be doing the TIGJam sometime in early-ish October.  Dates and more information soon!

We will still be doing a local jam in August, to celebrate Prom hanging around.  We expect it'll just the handful of usual suspects from the Phoenix area, but we'll post dates and info in case people have frequent flier rewards they want to burn or just love travel and want to join!

Thanks a lot for bringing this up, but I think the "too insanely soon" thing definitely applies to most of us; those going back to school as well.

So that said, I think you should go ahead with the early October date this year, but ensure that next year's Jam takes place sometime over the summer, so that any and all indies can attend, not just those not currently going to university/college.  Smiley

Yes pls!!  I'm going to have a hell of a time convincing Bekah to let me come out there but I'm looking forward to the Prom-induced bonerstroke!

Sooo I'm going down to Austin for Austin GDC... Which is like mid-September.

It would be cool to go to TIGJam (Oct 9th-??) from there.

Is anyone driving from Austin to Phoenix that I could tag along with?  Gentleman

Ok so I am definitely NOT going to be able to attend, as I will still be up on the south rim on Saturday night.  HOWEVER I would like very much to stop in and say hi to anybody that is still there on Sunday afternoon!

Just a quick note, airline tickets are crazy cheap this week. At least from Denver to Arizona its only $130 round-trip for Oct. 9th to the 11th. I guess they are hurting from all the bad press and lack of travelers. I'm still trying to juggle a European vacation with the wife next year and my lack of vacation hours, so if I can get the Friday off I shall be there.

we (mike and i) really want to go. i'm looking at plane tickets now since we'll be in CA until the 5th (maybe longer if we have to) but that means we'd be staying in hostels for like 11 days which gets expensive. Not to mention the extra flight and whatnot. we also want to visit Austin (we might move there) and it might work to do it on this big indie-madness trip of ours... .. hmm
