Does anyone have a program that helps with palette swaps?

Graphics Gale handles palette reordering and recolouring fairly well.

VV--------------- MERGED FROM ANOTHER THREAD ---------------VV

I was wondering if anyone knew where some good pixel art tutorials were at? I just started making my own stuff but I am admittedly sorely in need of a good technique (or two lol). I downloaded a program called "Graphics Gale" as per a suggestion from another web site I found but that is about it...any suggestions would be much appreciated Smiley

Good choice, graphicsgale is awesome. I remember reading this tutorial and learning a lot from it, hopefully you find it useful as well. Good luck with stuff!  Smiley

I find this one really handy: http://www.gas13.ru/v3/tutorials/photoshop_pixelart_tutorials.php . The "so you want to be a pixelartist" bit has a lot of nice game-related stuff in it.

Also, if you've got a hide thick enough to withstand the slathering jaws of cerberus, try asking for critique on Pixelation

If you have a Mac, Pixen is a fantastic tool for pixel editing and building pixel animations, especially on a self-imposed palette.  You can edit at 2000-5000X+ magnification (unlike Photoshop's arbitrary 1600% wall), switch to tiled/untiled previews, and work in layers.  The only unfortunate thing is it seems to have been languishing in developmental neglect for the last year or two :/.
