mouse aiming...
You're right, Shadowgrounds DID use mouse aiming... I could have sworn I played it with keyboard only, sorry about that.

You're right.. Though i do think alien breed done in the angle of chaos engine would have been great, still, i am making a game a little like that...(very slowly)

I'm not so sure if such an angle would have worked well, because alien breed had lots of small corridors... so to clearly see whats going on, the camera needs to be top-down. Or did you mean something else?

How about 'Zombies Ate My Neighbour' from 1993 by the one and only Konami? Good luck with the development.

Looks nice; hopefully there will be more than just giant worms to kill in the final version though.

Thanks Nektonico. There is quite a bit more than just the initial outside area. It was just a bit easier to use the first areas to test a lot of things. The other videos posted show a bit of the inside tiles (where the majority of the game takes place) and a couple of other enemy types. A few of the other areas and a number of other enemies won't be shown for a little while now.

Nice. I'll keep an eye out for that one. Get them to slightly randomise the pitch of the footstep sample though please. That's one of my pet hates

I'll have to see what he's doing with the sound fx for the footsteps. I do know that it is changed depending on what type of surface the player is moving over. I believe Gareth has a section in his blog about the code as it pertains to the sound. I'm just the drawing guy, it went over my head..lol http://fatsweb.blogspot.com/

I take it you've played the original Commando? Surely that was the one which started the genre! Or at least, made it awesome, haha.
