Too loooooong
I like long titles. If I want to refer to it quickly, I'll just use its original codename, Project Darkness.

Light and Darkness: the Melancholy Tale of the Black Ninja.
This is sooo cheesy, and not very original. I like the Melancholy Ninja suggestion much much more.

Definately too long. Melancholy Ninja is Much better.
The length of names was discussed in the beginning of the thread years ago; hence we have the name "Jinky Jonky and the Spell of the Advergamez".
Its just one of the guidelines thought up, along with getting rid of semicolons, and numberings.

Melancholy Ninja rules. How's Extranaut? It's a jetpack based Metroidvania about alien archaeology.

So what do yall think of title for an all-girl smash clone? I'm thinking of going with something food based, because it's almost lunchtime and I'm hungry:
Habanero Honeydew Sweet & Sour

I'm working on... ...wait for it... WAY OF THE NINJA It's sort of a mix between Mega Man (you get to choose which bosses you fight), Ninja Gaiden (It's got cutscenes and an awesome NINJA as the main character), N (your ninja is small!), and possibly Metroid (It's set in the future!!). Is your ninja a robot ninja, or just a regular human ninja? Because if it's a robot ninja, you could totally go all crazy Japanese portmanteau and call your game ROBONJA~

alo! I'd love some naming advice from the experts I'm making a game where you burst targets (which could in theory be anything) but i've gone with making them pulsating brains, sucking the life out of the land. so, you explode brains- I was thinking BrainSplode? the other one I was thinking of is Brainburst which I like better, but there's a shareware game called that.. it doesn't look too big- I don't know if itd be a problem calling it the same thing. I guess I could change it a bit like Brain-Burst?

:D I like the name, but it implies it's a reaction skills game, whereas it's really a more puzzle / judgement type thing with no time restrictions.. you can think as slowly as you like! Think Slow? hmmm

64pixels The URL to the description and download is in my signature. EDIT: There were more ideas on #tigirc, but most were based on the old "craftr" name (web 2.0 cliche) or not fitting with the game (Cubesplosion (which was taken by the author of that name when i rejected it))

I was going to go with bust-a-brain, but indiegames blog did a news update calling it brainsplode so I decided I would be better off sticking with what people would recognise when I did an update..
anyway, i've got another I need named and I'm starting early so no-one will news post about it before the title's been fixed :D
You're in a protective suit, on an alien world. There's a constant downpour of deadly rain, which is a big feature in the game. The mood is very survival horror..
tentatively calling it 'It Always Pours' (in reference to the saying, 'it never rains, it pours')

I've only ever heard "When it rains, it pours"
