Hi!
I'm searching a name for my one man team. Until here i though i would call it "Homeworks" but now it don't feel like what i want to express with this team name.
So few months ago i though about something like "Exception Prone" but someone told me it was a bit ....i don't know the word in english, when you make feel others that you are good but it's pretentious, yes pretentious if it's english.
So now i'm thinking about something like : "Improbable".
What do you think?

"Homeworks" is a cool name, but maybe you don't want to express the idea of working in your bedroom.
"Improbable" is ok, but it doesn't express as many ideas. Maybe that's not a bad thing.
How about Psingularity or Psingleton? I didn't add the Ps to make it more extreme, I added it so that you can be Googled. I also like The Lonely Coder for its mystique.
Or something to express the idea of an inspired, mad genius. Dr Addiction's Underground Lair.
No, though. I have two real suggestions, ironic though they be:
1) Games For One
2) The Massive Collective

Haha i like "The Massive Collective" :D
But i don't want to focus on the fact that i'm alone in the team because once my project is done i will need other people to come.
What i want to focus on is the concept of impobability of the resulting production : like when you say about something that shouldn't happen : "it's not impossible, it's just improbable".
The concept of something that is possible but that nobody does or sees etc, like something rare in universe, is fascinating.
I hope to build only games that are "improbable". Not sure about the word itself, so i ask. Maybe a synonym, but i did'nt found something that is better to describe the concept.

Not Playrare, too close to 'Rareware'. I guess they had the same concept?
The word 'improbable' is fine, but it has a bad sound on its own. I'd call it something like 'Improbable Games' or 'Improbable Productions'.

I see, so what do you think of maybe combining "improbable" with another concept? Not games nor software or something but more another core concept...
I'll search this way,i think.

wow, i found a Synonym dictionary... just searched for "rarity" - Infrequent Games- Seldom Studios- Singular Software- Unplausible Productions- Unexpected games- Emergent PlayI think that they all are somewhat passable... I would use Unexpected Games if i were to choose a name... BTW, some time ago i decided for Over Mind Games for my team/blog... what do you think about it? It has no sense, but i like that the acronym is OMG and that has a nice ring. Anyway i can't change it because i already made my logo. And i like my logo

Currently I'm making an exploration game about a failed experiment that has to find his way out of the abandoned laboratory he was created in, no enemies, only exploring and wandering around. There is time pressure however, you have to find the exit before you die. So hmmm... I personally was thingking about these words: Abandonment, Freak, loneliness, lab. So I came up with a bunch of bad names: *Lonely Lab *The Abandoned lab *The Lonely Freak *LoneFreak *The freak *Freak laboratory/ Freak lab/ freaklab *~name~ the freak *Failed experiment *The experiment

I take it that you aren't very good with names?

Wow, I like the game idea a lot! And the graphics look awesome! As for the name, I was thinking maybe cutting it down to just Abandoned might be good. It would kind of leave the "what" and "where" to mystery.

I take it that you aren't very good with names? Not very good? I suck at it, just take a look at a list of my previous games: *Theseus and the maze (exploration game) *Mosquito madness (shmup) *Goldyfrog and the big bad bombers (arcade) *Super action bounce go!!! (Platformer) *Angels of time (shooter) *Super dudette (shmup) and so on... It is too late for those games, but this one still stands a chance! "abandoned" does sound good, but there are probably 100+ games allready called that way, it at least sounds like it.

That's actually super awesome. As for your new game, I suck at names too, but if you come up with a catchy and/or interesting name for your character, that could work quite well as your title (think Knytt).

It is super easy to test if this is true: you search 'mobygames'. And no, there are no games already called this. Why not go for it?

I think it's too late to change it, given that it's already a recognized series, but I'd be curious to know what you think of Telepath RPG.

Was there an earlier Telepath game that wasn't an RPG? If not, then why does it have 'RPG' on the end?

Ice caves of Europa
It's an exploration, shooter, rpg, adventure where you explore caves, made of ice, on Jupiter's moon Europa.

Was there an earlier Telepath game that wasn't an RPG? If not, then why does it have 'RPG' on the end? The original Telepath games are RPGs, though the latest one (Telepath Psy Arena) is more of a straight tactics game. I named it Telepath RPG to make it immediately obvious to anyone who saw the name on a website that it was an RPG, since most Flash portals lump RPGs in with non-RPGs under the category "Adventure."

The fact that is the Europa in outer space and not here on earth made all the difference I think. Just make sure people are aware of that because the name sounded kinda dull before you described it. (Europe is Europa in swedish, maybe other countries aren't so quick to make that association).
