The name of the game is ALPHA&OMEGA or Α&Ω For short (apologies if you can not see
the second phrase).Anthropotheosis was the runner-up.

   *ALPHA&OMEGA

    -II.End of Darkness.
    -III.Linear Stracture.
    -IV.The Ark.
    -V.Phobos.
    -VI.He who fights Monsters.
    -VII.The Collapsing Star.
    -VIII.Prosper and Expand.
-IX.One by One, the stars go out.
    -X.Countdown to final extiction.
-XI.In the end...it was all dark. (Final Chapter)

I have a couple more chapters that i am finishing.

Name of the game: CLONE WOLF

According to the Ludum Dare #20 theme, “It’s dangerous to go alone!”, therefore our hero gets a special magic item from a village elder. Upon using the item, the copy (or clone, if you prefer) of the hero appears. The funny part is, that the magic item itself is copied, as well. This way you can create your clones in an exponential manner.

Memoirs is a good idea! Excellent point on the syllables too, I'll think about it.. the general theme/genre is science fiction...suspense..? maybe a bit of horror too..

jarnik, where does the "wolf" come from? The picture on the magical coin/amulet looks more like a cat. So I would say that the name felt confusing to me.

The name is supposed to be a pun on the "lone wolf" clichι, denoting the protagonist.

It actually IS a cat on the amulet (this one) - slightly related to the Ludum Dare theme, but completely unrelated to the game as a standalone piece. That's why I've been actually thinking of redrawing it to a wolf. Thanks for the tip!

Ah, nice. I missed out on both the references, silly me. The clone/lone wolf thing is pretty clever, actually.

But it would probably be good with an obvious reference (having a wolf on the amulet or naming the main character "Wolf"), and let the other references be secondary/layered meanings.

CLONE WOLF IS AN AMAZING NAME. NO MORE FEEDBACK IS NEEDED.

But really, it really does it for me. Simple (two syllables!), gets the message across (you're a warrior, you can duplicate!) and it's a pun on a very common phrase.

Dollmaker, I'd stick with Alpha & Omega. A little cliche, but hey. It's short, it's sensible. Anthropotheosis is... the process of making gods into humans? Or humanising their features? Or something? Regardless, it's a big BIG mouthful, difficult to spell, hard to remember, and a very uncommon word.

Though, if you'd really like suggestions, telling us what the game actually is wouldn't hurt. It sounds... very ambitious. An RPG? A Greek God RPG?

Arcanarena Gaiden does nothing for me, though I have no nostolgic ties to a game with Gaiden in the title.  Arcanarena makes me think Macarena.  That would be awesome if it was intentional... like a crazy magic casting game in the carribean.

actually Memoirs wouldn't work so well, even though it sounds good. It reminds me too much of 'Memoirs of a Geisha', and also the definition leans more towards someones personal recollection of something but leaves out the hints of being related to data.  Maybe if I used Memory instead of the plural.

The good thing is at least I'm rethinking the title more..!

Ah yeah, I remember you mentioning this idea earlier.

Arcanacademia?

Clever! I like it, maybe not for this game, but for a future game in the same setting/world/universe. Smiley

Heh, crazy, but funny. The Macarena originates in Spain though, and Arcanarena is meant to be a portmanteau of 'Arcana' (magic) and 'Arena' (gladiatorial combat) - the original game was going to be about the same protagonist as a graduate of magic academy entering a competition similar to that in Trial of Champions, organised and attended by magic users of various sorts, hence Arcanarena.   'Gaiden' means 'side story', which fits in that it is a shorter tale about one of the characters in a larger setting.

In any case, 'crazy magic-casting game in the caribbean' does sound interesting. I might do that at some point, maybe as a 'Summer Vacation Interlude' or something :D

I'll probably end up using Arcanarena Gaiden as the subtitle or something, to tie it in to the setting.

Hello this is Pencerkoff

"Arcane Arena" seems to get the same job done then.

Clone Wolf was good even before I got the "lone" pun.  Simple and well fitting.  The game sounds like an experiment in lagging one's computer, but I would never condemn the attempt.

I was thinking about making a game based on the fat naked guy sprite I made during Assemblee, and I was wondering what you all thought of "Fats in Hats".  Not a terribly serious game, mostly wanted to try a platformer again before I'm too old for this stuff.

I agree that Clone Wolf is fricking great (it took me a moment to get the 'lone' pun too).

Fats in Hats is cute (and opens up the door for having all kinds of hats as collectables, which seems to be a big thing in these times), but I'm sure someone will hate on it for not being politically correct. Depending on how the game plays, you may or may not get a lot of flak for it.

The name is Cardinal Quest.

There are no actual cardinals in the game.

The name was chosen by a random name generator.

I am thinking of replacing it with "Vault of Darkness: Minotaur Quest" - sounds a bit less generic and is more descriptive of what the game is actually about.

Thoughts?

I think "Cardinal" is a very nice, fancy word. You're right in that "Quest" was pretty cliche; but so is your current title!

Maybe just "Cardinal"?

also, beautiful art!
