For a 2d sidescrolling run and gun with tile based terrain destruction based on the Golden Ratio. (not minecraft) 64x64 tiles make 4~32x32, 32x32 makes 4~16x16 tiles and downwards until 4x4.
The 4x4 tiles fall down becoming seeds and planting procedural generated trees The story of the game is a twisted take on Adam and Eve and the story of the Garden of Eden. The graphical style is surrealistic, and ambiently dark.
My current name choices atm are at.
Walled Garden, Gan Eden, Eden's Gate or Gates of Eden

How's HULLFRAG for a 2d multiplayer arena shooter where you fly space fighters? Maybe you could rename your game to "Hull Breach" since "frag" doesn't make sense in this context. It's a pretty interesting name as-is, though. My current name choices atm are at.
Walled Garden, Gan Eden, Eden's Gate or Gates of Eden
Rate the name plz. <3 Why not just "Dark Eden"? It conveys the message of the game better than any of those other ones. My favorite out of those, though, is "Walled Garden" since it's appropriately ambiguous and people don't go in with preconcieved notions about biblical references.

Why not? It seemed fitting to me. Breach brings to mind a bigger ship suffering minor damage, frag sounds like blasting the fighters into little pieces, which is exactly what the game is about.

Rate the name plz. <3 "Walled Garden" is a business term meaning an environment where only what the owner allows is available (like AOL back in the day, or the App Store nowadays). The connotations are slightly negative, at least in my mind. Dark Eden is interesting, Twisted Garden or Twisted Eden are also possibilities depending on how your procedurally generated trees end up looking (since the premise is a twisted take on the Adam and Eve story). Why not just "Dark Eden"? It conveys the message of the game better than any of those other ones. While it's a top-down arena shooter it is definitely arcade-y.

A walled garden is specifically a garden enclosed by high walls for horticultural rather than security purposes, though traditionally all gardens have been hedged about or walled for protection from animal or human intruders. I also know that a Walled Garden is also a technological term used to describe what certain mobile media companies are able to do and show on their services. Dark Eden and Twisted Eden just sound a bit over cliche to me with me along with Gates of Eden. Walled Garden: 5 votes Gan Eden: 3 votes Gates of Eden: 4 votes Eden's Gate: 3 votes Dark Eden: 2 votes

Doesn't really work for me. I look at it and see "HURL"; and surely fragging is a certain kind of killing, that doesn't have much to do with hulls. It looks too much like two words arbitrarily jammed together.

What's the connection with the golden ratio? Walled Garden and Gates of Eden are okay. I'd rate Walled Garden higher, for its air of mystery, and because the gameplay sounds like it's related to gardening. Why not "The Walled Garden"? Gan Eden is too obscure for me. Eden's Gate sounds like a sci-fi paperback. You've got the possibility for an awesome religious name here. "The tree of the knowledge of good and evil"; "The voice in the garden" ?

Damn, I always thought fragging was just blasting anything into pieces, people or vehicles, but I checked it now and it turns out I was wrong. Well, maybe it isn't too late to change it, but I have no idea what for. 'Hull crack' or 'Hull breach' don't bring up the right image and don't sound so destructive.

Well, you could go for "Shatterhull". You know, like Shatterhand, but with hulls. Or something more abstract, like "Space Junk". Walled Garden: 5 votes Gan Eden: 3 votes Gates of Eden: 4 votes Eden's Gate: 3 votes Dark Eden: 2 votes
I think "Walled Garden" or "The Walled Garden" have an added advantage, since it tells the player about the interesting thing involving your game, that you can break down walls and floors.

I read "shatterhull" as "shutterhull" which doesn't mean anything but it sounds cool. I don't think that names should have to mean anything.

The problem is the artist worked for a few days on the logo and it says HF, so it would be nice if we could keep it that way. Hullfracture came up today, but I don't really know what I think about it.
