Was thinking of starting a personal 'game company' or brand. Going to be mostly mobile focused, on more complex games like RPGs and strategy.

One of the main factors is that it pops up on the top of Google when you look for it. It's more of a hobby thing, so I want it to appear when people google up the name from my resume.

I like cyan/teal, because it's a nice color, and the name brings forward this pretentious postmodern feel.

First thought was Cyaneyed but it's so common that it gets buried in Google.

So, tried converting it to Malay (my native language), got Mata-cyan or Matacyan, which I think sounds a little exotic mixed with postmodernism.

Matabiru (blue eyes) has a better ring and won't be mispronounced, but it doesn't pop up as well on google.

Mawar cyan (cyan rose) also sounds good, but the logo will be harder to draw  Giggle

My game's name is Mountain Homes; it's supposed to be halfway between a 3D Dwarf Fortress clone and a classic city-builder. I don't think the name is a good as it could be... it's not "dwarfy" or even cool, and probably not Google'able. At least it doesn't sound like a rip-off Smiley
Maybe I'll go with a subtitle. "Mountain Homes: Dwarven Cities", or ": Cities of stone" or something...

Good idea SmileyHand Thumbs Up Right but maybe 'Cities in Stone'? I'm not a native speaker, and I'm not sure which has a better 'ring' to it...

It's a subtle distinction.  'Cities in Stone' makes you think of 'flies in amber'.  In this version of the name, stone is a generic material, so you're saying the game is about cities made of stone, as it were.

'Cities in the Stone' is a bit of reference to 'Sword in the Stone', but also, putting 'the' in front of 'Stone' makes it a specific place, even a mythical place.  It can evoke Platonic ideals-- calling it 'the Lake' implies that it is a special lake, versus 'a Lake' which says it's just any old lake.

Your mileage may vary, of course!  I just figure dwarves would mutter prayers to 'the Stone' as if it were some sort of all-encompassing deity.

To The Top
Stupidly hard vertically-scrolling platformer, both generally tricky platforming and some rare IWBTG-style fuck-you can't-possibly-see-it-coming tricks. No/very few checkpoints, one really really tall level, if you fall too far you fall all the way to the bottom/the last checkpoint.

Oh, now I get it. It's not a bad idea, that 'the Stone' thing, but it wasn't immediately obvious for me at first glance... will it be obvious for the player? Or will they just think it's some silly guy from Poland who can't use his articles correctly?

The Sleeping Garden, Screamed
Title actually quote taken from a book with similar narrative style as this tentative game.

What type of game comes to mind with this sort of title?

Hint: It is not survival horror.
