This is the beginning, and possibly the end of a Metroidvania style platformer I've been working on over the last couple of days. It's got about one powerup, and five minutes of gameplay.

Still, is there anything here worth saving? Where can I take this game? What kind of things would you guys like to see?

(Download here)

Controls are left and right to move, z to jump, and x to fire.

it doesn't have collision, so can't really be said to have much gameplay at all yet?

i had thought that it'd be more like a platform game, but it controls like a jetpack-style game.  hmm.  oh wait, z to jump, right, not 'up' (which flies) heh.

yeah, it's hard for me to say much about it as it is

it took me a while to realize what was going on with those cannons - they looked like spike-things to me initially, it was only on my second run through the level that i realized the were just guns.

increpare, it very much has collision on my box, if it doesn't on yours, something has gone horribly wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong.

Also, you can fly? There's flight?

Can I get some screenshots of this, please?

Edit: Okay, so the "flight" flag that should be reset to zero every time an entity is created--isn't. This means that nonflying enemies, such as the main character himself, can, well, fly. I've reuploaded a version that should at least have that fixed.

This is quite an adventure.

Edit again: Apparently I didn't initialize my "ghostTimer" variable, either, so at random when starting the game, you have permanent temporary invincibility.

I'd like to impress on everyone at this point that the game I was playing was radically different from the game increpare was apparently playing--such is the nature of these bugs.

The current version of the game available above should be fixed.
