May not be what you are looking for, but I made a low res 3d game called Reflect that is all about looking through the perspectives of animals: http://www.reflect-game.com

As someone who used to ride horses for dresage and whatnot, I can safely say that SotC got the closest to emulating what it's like to steer a horse. Some people I know complained that you couldn't get the horse to jump off a cliff. Well, duh, it's a live animal, not a car (as has already been pointed out), it's not going to willingly jump to its death.

Only sorta on-topic but the alien in the Alien vs Predator FPS was pretty sweet to control - you could go up walls and on ceilings and it had an interesting fisheye lense that gave it something like 180 degrees of view just by looking straight ahead.

I didn't want to start a new thread since this one already exists, but can you post some more games where you control some sort of 4-legged mammal? The old Lion King game comes to mind? Are there any others like that?

I believe Fifth made a really neat four legged protagonist for one of his games. There was a demo floating around some time ago.

Lugaru is a 3rd person fighting/stealth game with really neat controls, where you play as an anthropomorphic rabbit, it's very cool, you might wanna check it out, although it's kinda old now.

. I played this via emulation, and was really impressed. The video starts with sea creatures, but there are a lot of four-legged creatures in it, too. Basically, you can choose how your creature evolves; it's pretty neat.

YES this is one of my favorite iPhone games. Setting up webs to catch a ton of bugs without touching the level is pretty fun. Although I'd be scared of a spider that could jump that fast and far.

Some of the Aliens in Tremulous were quite fun to play as. They felt interesting and had to be played well.

Yes! Animal games are where it's at! Here is the page for "Nothing", by the way. Sorry for the boring HTML. As for other games, I really liked the "soul of wolf" powerup in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It wasn't a big part of the game by any stretch (I don't think you ever actually needed to use it), but it was really fun to use, to just run through the larger rooms and leap off of stairs and the like. It was also one of my main inspirations for how quadruped movement could work in a game. Page is no longer exist. but game is still available via direct link btw: http://www.l-ames.com/nothing.zip(apparently TigDB no longer exist so yeah)
