What's up. I've been working a few months on my new game called Demolition Dude.
The basic idea is that you throw the hero at a building to demolish it and don't destroy too much of your surroundings.

Only requirements are Flash Player 9.

I've finished a 9 level preview with most of the basic mechanics laid down and I'd like to get feedback from the TIGers about it. Gameplay, look, anything is good.

Play it here:

The lags a lot when there're more blocks disappearing at the same time.

I don't know, it feels a bit unsatisfying currently. You'd need a bit more effect to the breaking blocks, to make the player feel that he's really demolishing stuff. The physics and gameplay are otherwise stabile and good.

I guess the lag was mostly in the big towers made out of small blocks? Flash is really struggling with big structures with box2d.

Definitely agree on the satisfyingness, I guess a beefier sound and animation + maybe some screen shaking would be something to work on. Thanks.

There's a new version. The biggest change is a much more polished demolition of the blocks.
There are some small other improvements as well and a few different maps.

The game feels a lot better now! One thing though that annoys me a bit: it feels like those bricks break when they barely touch the ground. I can see the idea of total destruction, but I'm not sure if the bricks look a bit too solid to be destroyed so easily. Also, the game area could be emptied between levels, so that the player wouldn't be bouncing around when you press the next levek button.

Good stuff. I have to think about the brick fragility Smiley There should probably be a loading screen or something like that between the levels.
