I hate to keep bumping this up but I've got the Bombie Zombie 2 test engine running. I think I might have overdone it:

http://shadypixel.webs.com/Bombie%20Zombie%202.exe

You can face slide after a dive if you hold the jump button, and use the jetpack by pressing up while jumping.  Space is to cycle through weapons and enter is to spawn more zombies.

I'm not sure if I should keep going with this or start over with the old engine.

Well, you've certainly added quite a bit to the game here, and the pace is quite a bit faster. I still prefer the original though - I thought the leisurely pace there was perfect. The new weapons seem to run counter to the spirit of the game in general. Especially the bazooka - unless it's meant to be some rare weapon that only lasts a short while. Also I liked the zoomed out look where you could see a wide expanse of the field at once. Here it is zoomed in too much.

I have to say that I like most of the things in the original better.

I like the more abstract little stick man zombies, and while I'd be willing to give new items a chance, they seem much stronger than the regular landmines.

It's still to early to see where all of this is going, of course.

Dang, this game's just getting better and better.
Fantastic stuff..

~~~~
Sometimes I see things like this and miss being able to super-build a game in this way.  Little steps, build it up, making it super.
I still do it from time to time, but not as much as I'd like.
Hey, why am I being congrat'd btw?!
Okay, I agree with a lot of your comments about the first engine being better. So I can:
1: Make this engine more like the first
2: Start over with the old engine
3: Keep going with this and ignore what everyone says
I shall be pondering.  Beer!
3!
If 3 fails, then go back to the old engine.  It's always worth a try.
Well I like the new engine (And I don't want that 3D model I made to go to waste  Screamy) but it's far too easy. (Be sure to check for spaces between "far" and "too" when typing quickly) When you gave me that build I thought you had just made all the weapons available to be able to test everything. If you make it so that they each have limited "ammo" and aren't always available, it would be nice.  Grin
Oh yeah! I thought I should mention, the weapons in the test engine are all
FULLY UPGRADED!
So thats why you might think the game seems super easy right now.
How about...
4: 3, but with an option for the old, abstract graphics?
