I'm just funning with you.  I popped my monocle at your ranking 2 so high and then going on to question somebody else's selection.  Tears were shed, wrists were slit.
I am really looking forward to the fan remake of 2 though, because it's very much a could've-been sort of game.  Too bad it's probably never going to happen.

Let's analyse Metroid 2.

-Trudging through damp caves- check
-Beating up space aliens-check
-Being confused-very check
-Finding missile expansions-check

It's certainly a metroid game.

The only Metroid I played is the one on the SNES, I found it a okay game, but not a lot of fun.

Haha, nobody mentioned the crappy Hunters game. Although, the music can kick more asses than we have TIGgers here.

The topic doesn't interest me, it was a comment on the few ranking lists posted here.

It wasn't crappy. It was good until everyone started cheating like there was no tomorrow.

Storymode blew. But multiplayer was good.

Yes, the multiplayer was good. Singleplayer was OK until it started getting too hard for me. The boss battles and random fights here and there... I can only repeat that the music is pretty good and very varied.

WHAT

Nearly everyone here mentioned indirectly it sucked (by ranking it at the bottom), and glaiel gamer was more explicit: "hunters is horrible and ya it's way different"

I didn't like Hunters just because it was the final nail in the coffin for 2D Metroid games.  Cry

OK YOU WON. Are you lucky now? Satisfied?

Or maybe YOU didn't understand what I said. This is silly. I wrote something wrong, then something right. You didn't liked it, you screamed. I made Facepalm and got bored.

So, I've been playing Metroid Prime 3 Corruption some more. Pretty fun so far, but a bit more linear-feeling than the other games. There's still a bit of backtracking, but it's more... self-contained? Bite-sized? Hard to describe, and I'm having trouble deciding if this is a good thing or bad.

One thing that does bother me: If these are supposedly ancient devices created long ago by long-dead civilizations, how come none have the same abilities that Samus does? There's a Penny Arcade strip that makes light of this:

But in all seriousness, how interesting would it be to have a Metroid game where the structures actually made sense (even in a loopy fantastic manner) for the previous inhabitants? Maybe they couldn't all be able to transform into tiny little balls, but then again, that could make for some interesting environmental puzzles. "Okay, so these creatures can all just fly across this ravine. How can I use my abilities to do the same?"

Whie I was just being a dick for kickers on your first comment, I admit I found ridiculous your points for defending your statement, all of tghem seemed being serious enough and that neither of which were right. Not a single of them.

Yeah, this is the internet, internet is serious business, blabla I don't give a shit.
