The animation is impressive, but alas, I also did not like the art style.

Well, the animation is overall well crafted. However, like mentioned earlier, its flahs animation. It's filled with static models with their parts moved to create the illusion of movement. Like high quality cardboard-based animation. You can feel where the models seperate. Regarding the split head thing, it seems to be around since the early days of Flash animation. Probably because its quite easy to create. Or Because "Terrance and Phillip" from South Park really influenced flash animators. I dunno.

Still, to give credit where credit is due, the animation is pretty sweet. I really like the black and white intro of the "fight in the dark" sequence. Nice silouhette use. In general its pretty sweet. And the script is pretty good too.

Thanks for sharing Smiley

Yeah, I could have definitely gone for more grandpa all the way through. Although the Pink Panther homage was pretty well done :D

holy f*ck  WTF

anyway it's not done in flash, as you can see in the bonus material they even used 3d models

maybe they used toonboom plus some 3d software or something similar

Looks way way way too much like Flash for me. And all the animation is about 150% too exaggerated just like most Flash stuff. I much preferred Bitey of Brackenwood.

Same boat (Brackenwood is excellent <3). I agree with several people here that the presentation and storytelling was excellent and entertaining. But I also agree that the actual art was pretty cheap, and had that ugly flash "decal" look (even if it wasn't flash-made) and feel to it. Some animations (like the silhouette's walk cycle) were really smooth and well done, others were just pieces of the bodies moving around, which looked terrible in comparison. Also, ugly use of linear gradients everywhere, the way it was used to "shade" everything, ugghh... doesn't give anything body, makes it all just look more flat, even.

But still, I liked it Smiley only Flash cartoon I've watched in ages, and 'twas worth it.

EDIT: oh, and that fight scene must have contained every awesome special effect known to man. Crazy

Absolutely fantastic, one of the best animations I've ever seen. The music was especially good.

Fuck yeah!

Despite the setting being a bit to "generic 00:ies internet steampunk with burton vibes" (g0isb-style) it was freaking prrfect. Doing that in flash... Maybe some of it was made in toonboom or the like and then somehow exported to flash, that would make it a lot easier to create those 3D things. Well, anyhow  Hand ClapGiggle

You can render to swf straight from maya, so making the character animations could easily have been done in that way.

I totally loved it. I didn't mind the style, but would agree that brackenwood is still the best flash animation ever, possibly drawn with ninjai.

Awesome, the first part is the best! Actually it reminded me more of Dr. Seuss than Tim Burton...

I'll echo onc agin what others said, about the animation being very cool, but the style overdone. I presonally don't like the prominent Invder Zim like art that has emerged in a few years already.

And while I could smell someflahs trcisk tehre in some of the less polished animations, they still were rather well done, so I really don't mind that. The music was its winning point for me.
