it's based on ruby, windows + mac + linux ports are definatly in,
it's just a matter of packaging.

May I ask you which library you're using for Ruby game development? I'm currently evaluating different alternatives for my future game. I'm leaning towards pyglet+rabbyt, but I don't know if I'm entirely comfortable with OpenGL...

i'm using gosu, it's SUPER EFFECTIVE

it basically takes care of setting up opengl + audio,
makes image loading super easy,
provides an interface to the chipmunk 2d physics engine (if required)
and is blazingly fast.

from our current "stress tests" the performance is on par, if not better than the python/pyglet version.

release as soon as i'm finished playing (damn, this thing is fun :D *hahaha*)
na, for real. it's still very basic, i can release a first video soon though.

shout outs to kevin for the awesome sprites & explosions (though the ruby explosions look nowhere nearly as cool as teh gamemaker's)

That first picture is fantastic. Also what's wrong with the website? It look very strange for me with all the pictures and titles all over the place.

Oh, Macs have had voice synthesizing since the 80's. I remember WAY back when Cap'n Magneto was revolutionary because the characters talked. It was crazy back then to see something like that.

Really nice aesthetic, but the trees and hills look too smooth. But that might be the shitty image compression.

Ah yes, I remember having a 'conversation' with a picture on my dads G3 when I was 6 or so. I believe I swore at it and it crashed.
