wow... augmented reality game. that sounds neat. i'm already working on something in that area with a couple of friends. ^__^

but disregard that, here's a tank



bad news is: puit is on hold for now. making more graphics for it is haaaaard.
i have no idea how i can make the vehicles fit the graphics style of the characters - no outline.

and fleshing out a gamemode that's *fun* and simple to code is really hard.
my basic idea was to have soldiers running from left and right and fighting for bunkers to capture. those give you a time bonus to produce more soldiers in your homebase. kind of like Z. but the concept grew too big to implement.

tanks and helicopters would be fun, but it's really hard implementing and drawing.

anyway, enjoy your tank.

oh, and: i love your idea of having pirates in the game.

any ideas how i could make a mode or entirely new game concept for a game with those sprites and pirates?

If you wanted, you could just do vehicles as big solid silhouettes, but in a different colour to the soldiers. If the characters are white, make the vehicles black (and the background blue or orange).

I too like the contrast between detailed objects and vehicles with the plain simplicity of the characters. Just make sure the characters are well animated. Shouldn't be all that hard with their simplicity.

I don't really like the contrast but that's just me. I think the tank should look something like this, but that's just opinion.

I for my part love the contrast: the characters are cute but war is serious business and so are all the war machines - that's how I see it - it's kinda symbolic. ^^
