we got in with gray. http://intuitiongames.com/gray Smiley

we're also flying there for the whole thing, so if you're going there or live in LA we'll hopefully see you there and maybe tell us where we should go/eat/play because LA is big and I'm just a farmboy.  Durr...?

I might show up Saturday/Sunday. I'd go the whole four days but TIGJam is right after and vacation days are slim...

I'd like to go, myself.
Los Angeles is just south of where I live, not a long drive.

But sadly, I have school. Not to mention I'd feel immensely out of place, probably being one of the few(or the only) teenagers there.

Hahaha  Cool

The fact I have school, and the 1st and the 2nd are on Thursay and Friday, is the dominant factor in that I might not be able to go, sadly.

Hmmmm, I guess I could try to set something up. Might be worth a shot, I've always wanted to go an Indie game expo/con/etc.

//disregard the following if I'm totally wrong, and haven't done enough research first

Have they announced the games themselves anywhere? Who, Me?

They wait until the last minute to let us talk about it, and then they don't post the selections anywhere you can see, don't send out press statements about the game selections, no screenshots from currently selected games on the site... Only mention I find with the full list is on Edmund's blog.

Does not knowing what games will be available make people want to come visit, or what? I just don't get it.

And what's the reason they're asking for all this material and info for us to submit about the games and ourselves? I mean, if they're not really doing much to get people to come, what's the point of all that? Facepalm

I get the impression that the folks running Indiecade are a little disorganized or something...

couldn't agree more. There seems to be some weird misconception about press and stuff for some people. Like you get _one_ big chance to spend your Press Points and then it's over, so you better make it big! Or maybe they just dropped the ball, I thought they'd be leaking our "how do you indie"  Big Laff interviews over the course of this month as a way to build up. That doesn't cost them anything, it's just a blog post.

Today I got three emails. One asking for a trailer, another telling us to tell everyone, and another asking for volunteers.

Looks like Edmund had the right idea. I'm kind of worried that when Mike and I show up for our thingy on Friday morning nobody is going to be there, and it's a "salon" and we still don't really know what that means. Apparently we just chat with the audience, so if there's no audience, it'll be really shitty. I know it sounds pretty fickle, but we're spending a _lot_ of money to come to this thing all the way from Iowa. I know it's not a lot of money for other people but this is kind of a big investment for us. I know daniel benmergui is coming from SOUTH AMERICA for this, and I'm sure others are taking some risk by making the trip for that long.

Here's to hoping it'll all magically work out. Beg

The choice of not publishing the games yet is actually strange, because it's the cheapest to solve... I wonder what happened behind the scenes.

That said, organizing events is a dreadful pain in the ass if it's not a company doing it. Many many mistakes are made.

I am happy enough to know that I'm meeting some of you there. Especially given that I live far away from the US, so there's little chance for me to do so.
