looking good, but I think the sword needs to moved to laying across the top of the screen. it seems in the way of your excellent boat art, and if its pointitng to the right it might help to give a sense of movement to the scene almost pointing the player where to shoot.

Veeery nice! :D
The graphics obscurely remind me of Zelda: Wind Waker which makes me dig 'em even more. Keep going!

Thanks for the compliments on the art. (^___^)

I'd like to get Ben to screen grab a video.  currently the only vid up is a week old and I'd like to show something more current (as that's half the dev life of this game at this point).

Jason - great point about the sword.  I'll experiment with it a bit.  I don't want it on the top center because that's the center of most catapult arcs.  I was thinking about downsizing the sword a bit and moving it up a tad.  Either way, you're right that it's not in a great location right now.

Firstly
Very cool body types that fit your style of art perfectly, I also like the clouds that dont look like clouds in the traditional sense.
1 suggestion that I have is that the player should have a limited means of propelling the Viking after the initial launch like poking him on the screen or something along those lines.

either way its looking great!

Looking very very naice fellas. Not only the pixel work but the grayscale concept art. From those last screenshots, it looks like it might even be a decent game hehe

Check out CamStudio if you wanna show us some motion. I wanna see how smooth the movement of that boat is so far.

Perceptic - most definately. We're going to have an upgradable crow's nest that has a rockthrower (upgrades to an archer, then to a mage).  He'll give you a bump at the cost of one of your heart.

Looks pretty good, but kinda slow, is that just the recording software or is it actually slow like that?

I think the vid drops frames.  It'll be smooth when it's done: gentleman's word.  Gentleman

Oh yah - the 3d model is so we can make an intro cinematic/viral for the game once we finish it. (if we can pull everything off)

Whew.

We've been hard at work on this thing.  This week is front end work and upgrades, but the art has been grueling.

It's been tough finding time to post so I haven't.  My job is KILLING me right now so I only have a few hours a night to work on this.

Tears of Joy  I know, cry me a river...

well here are some new sprites:

here's a render test and post processing test for the animation we want to have ready when we "ship":

And a mockup of the front end. :-)

As if I only just saw this. This is some of the best art I've seen in a long time.

The gameplay looks maybe quite random but certainly fun! Reminds me of Nanaca Crash in a very good way. Keep up the good work Smiley
