phubans, seriously, this is not a thing people care about. Don't bump threads this old if the only thing you have to say belongs in the "Masturbation" topic.

Do we even have a masturbation topic? We should.
No, we should not Lips Sealed

What the fuck is wrong with you people?

One person drew all the jiggle for the Scott Pilgrim game TRUE STORY (she also drew other things)
I'm pretty sure it's a he, considering that Paul Robertson was doing most of the graphics for the game.

Nope, Paul Robertson was the art director. He had 3+ spriters working with him. It's more or less the Mechafetus crew.
Huh, interesting. I hadn't realized that they were all involved in it.

man boobs

boobs are nice but i think they lose some of their value when you are constantly saturated by them

due to a love for rarity and an active imagination i prefer clothed boobs to ultra cleavage

also because i am a gentleman or gentlemonster?Huh?

but

i think that the current state of boobs in video games is much less insulting than the current state of female body shapes in video games which is pretty much always the same

there are other things than hourglasses with random breast size guys...

The shit that gets to me is when you're like, "I think women's bodies should be less of an issue in games," and people respond, "YOU THINK WE SHOULD HAVE UGLY WOMEN IN GAMES? WOULD THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY?"

And that, children, is why I drink.

im still waiting for a game where you have a fat woman in her 40s as main character

and that its not regarded as a big deal, like you end up doing the same things as a good looking young character wouldve done, probably more bad-ass

theres very little playable fat men and they're never main characters so i guess it does work both ways

Well, there's Wario. You're right that most video game characters are idealized, although I maintain that the genders are not balanced.

Well, yeah. I mean, Faith from Mirror's Edge caused an uproar and even a few Photoshops from people who figured they knew what she "ought to look like." And she was pretty attractive in the game already; she just didn't fit the absolute strict requirements of what women in games must look like.

I'm pretty sure you could get away with playing, for example, a Tony Soprano-esque character in a game easily. There's definitely a skew towards huge, musclebound dudes, but it isn't a requirement in quite the same way as it is for women.

In the writing as well. There are strong women in games, but it seems like people don't typically know how to write for a female role which isn't "strong, but..." Strong women are required to display vulnerability so male players with fragile egos aren't accidentally made to feel inadequate. Men don't have that stipulation.

yeah no i agree about genders being john nesky, its true that wasnt that obvious in what i wrote.

I referred specifically to fat main characters, and while wario definitely is one he is EXTREMELY FUNNEY WHAT WILL THAT GOOFY FAT WARIO THINK UP NEXT!!!!

but yeah no games are more sexist towards women than men so far

both are common though

Someone should make a game where you play as a moderately overweight, really plain-looking person. Of either gender really.

What if gam designers wrote/designed all characters as if they were male, and after they were done with that they'd randomly pick from a hat stuff like "This character is a woman", "this character is a little girl", "This character is black", "This character is a cat", etc.

And then they'd make as few changes to the original designs as possible to make the character fit his new gender/species.

I tried making my PnP NPCs like that - fleshing out the personality first, add a few random quirks by rolling on a table, and rolling for age and gender last - to avoid various age and gender related stereotypes creeping in on me.

Didn't work. Facepalm . IT IS NOT MY FAULT SHE HAPPENED TO ROLL A NATURAL 20 ON HER BUST SIZE, PEOPLE.

If we're talking about fantasy games it's a different matter of course. I believe every fantasy game should aspire to be an interactive Frank Frazetta painting. Anything but bulky dudes and big-breasted babes is unacceptable.
