Ugh, don't think I'll be making it this time.

Yeah, I am thinking the same thing. I just had a friend who had surgery so I have been attending to them for the past few days. Don't count me out yet though, I just may be able to pull off an entry. I still have to read the inform tutorials though damnit...

I kind of want to start now on an idea I have, but I have 2 finals yet and so I probably won't have the time, but maybe there will be a simple version in Python or some such?

To fit the winter theme, it starts off with you slowly freezing to death, perhaps, without knowledge of who you are or where you are.  The world is seemingly abandoned, and the goal is to stay alive as long as possible within the abandoned town you're nearby.  Perhaps you can win, or each game has to end in inevitable death, and the amount of time you're alive is simply your score.

Woo!  Depressing!  Good idea?

Heh, I had almost the exact same idea last night Smiley (except in mine it was always inevitable death, "winning" was choosing a less painful one..).  I probably won't enter though, or if I do, I'll probably go with a different idea I had.  Haven't really started yet though, so chances of that are pretty small.

Anyway, I say go for it Smiley

Me neither.  I have no experience programming and there's no way that I'm going to learn Inform and have a decent entry by Christmas.  Bummer.

I don't think I'll get something good together either, but I'll release what I have at the deadline, even if it's not finished...

I've got the system up and running (input parsing, inventory system, room and object descriptions etc) but need to add a lot more content than what I have now... (it probably would have been a better idea to use one of the existing IF tools, but hey, I like programming  Cool )

Oh well, we'll see, at least I've really enjoyed this :D

I don't see too much point in being strict about this.  Your midnight. Wink

Noooo, my midnight is already 4 hours over, I was counting on PST  Angry
Nah, I'll finish the last few sentences now and submit. It's rushed and probably buggy and wasn't a brilliant idea to begin with, but what the hell.
