I'm only looking for Jetpack 1 artwork right now, I plan to have better graphics in Jetpack 2 and hopefully the sales of Jetpack 1 will fund that.  I'm meeting some very talented people via the contest, and they will definitely be my first choice when it comes to JP2.  Obviously if JP1 sells well I will be able to offer a lot more to contributors.  If not, maybe I'll run another contest, or just give up on the project entirely.  This isn't a hobby for me - I have a family to feed, and there's a threshold a game needs to meet to be more profitable than web development.

If the Jetpack remake was free, what would be the value in giving free copies to contributors?  There will be a free version with a set number of levels (tbd), and a paid version with more.  I plan to have plenty of content in the free version, it definitely won't crippled or just a demo.

Oh, oops, I thought I picked up that the remake was just planned as being free and then thought that the free copy stuff was about Jetpack 2 Smiley

My bad, my bad, sorry for the confusion.

Your confusion is understandable  Grin
I initially planned to make the retro version just an alpha of Jetpack 2, and not distribute it but let it be playable from www.JetpackHQ.com .  A couple weeks ago I realized that with some enhancements it could easily be a whole game release, and possibly generate some income to fund Jetpack 2.

I'm not sure yet, somewhere between $10-$20.  I can picture the game in my mind but I'll have a better idea when I can see it.
