here's one i'm not sure if you've mentioned or not. just maybe wanted to push you in its direction. christmas island, by chris street (aka circy, aka euphoric rush, aka circlesoft) is sort of a retro-platform-puzzler in the style of a very, very old game by o3 software called super awesome adventure.

it's a great little game because of how the puzzles are based on the movement of the player, which is an interesting, grid-based platform movement. also, taking a page from games like jet set willy, it is a room-based game, with each room having its own name, and there's a similar degree of exploration involved.

anyways, i enjoyed it, and it's not a game i can really write about for pigscene, but it's something that maybe you'd want to check out. so check it out, MOSHBRO

nah, i don't think that's a valid comparison, but i do consider it sort of a proto-procedural game. i've always wanted to revisit the game idea though, and make a sequel.

I suggest making a video of Sanctuary. It's still one of my most favorite indie games for it's varied and just fun combat, long campaign and lots of extra modes.. but it's generally unpopular and it appears there isn't a single video of it on YouTube Smiley If you want to play it under Windows Vista/7 you'll need to use the Game Maker 6 converter. Otherwise it should work just fine.

Planet Earth Crusaders by the same developer is also pretty fun, but mostly because of how similar many of the mechanics are to Sanctuary.

@MixterX That's an interesting game. I'm somewhat torn by it - on the one hand I can see how much effort has been put into it but at the same time a lot of it just doesn't quite work for me personally. I think those 3d cutscenes just come off as really cheesy and don't work so well with the rest of the game.. I would've rathered it all be in 2d. I have other indie related youtube series' planned after this, so I'll be recording a lot of videos in the future. Haven't decided on this yet though.
