(Should this go in Indie Games? I don't know.)
Holy crap, gentlemen!
For those who haven't heard, Runic Studios (formerly Flagship Seattle) is going to be releasing their first game this month, Torchlight. On the surface it looks like a Diablo-clone, but there's quite a few things that make it different. I know that former Diablo 2 dev leads are part of the project. Mr. Travis Baldree, creator of Fate, is also in a lead position on TL. They announced that this will be a single-player only version of the game, with a massively-multi-player version following about 2 years from now (or whenever their dev cycle is complete).
The details I'm not clear on, but the last I heard the game would be relatively cheap (around $20) and include it's own editor. From what I hear about the MMO version, it sounds like it will be free. Again, don't take everything I say for infallible truth, go
check out the info they've put out on their site if you're interested.
I'm not 100% sure about their indie cred, but it sounds like they may be self-publishing (digital version). I don't know about the platform specifics either, but I assume it'll at least be for Windows.
They also put up their first dev diary a little while ago, and they have 3 videos up on how to use the level editor (PrEditor).
