The atmosphere in those pictures is just amazing, the use of blue in shades is just marvelous. And the contrast between the foreground and the background and the whole misty dawn kind of feeling in it, lovely.

That is the best way to draw europe I've ever seen! The political symbolism goes me by though... I understand germany as a machine, but soviet as flies and maggots? Wouldn't ants be more fitting? And italy as eels?

The idea for Russia is that the bear is dead, it still looks ferocious, but its rotting from the inside out.
When I originally saw(and posted) this image, I didn't know it was from a book series.
