Anime isn't a fucking style. It's a loanword for animation. There are thousands and thousands of styles and substyles that exist within it.
To pass judgement and make generalizations on such a large body of work is ridiculous.

If we're on the subject of awesome Japanese art styles, I think Afro Samurai deserves a mention. Say what you want about the series itself, the art was spectacular.  |

Cool, never heard of Range Murata before, but I really like that style. Anyone seen any of David Franklands stuff before? Unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures without the book titles but the covers he did for Mortal Engines are great:    Also does anyone know where this image is from? It's by the same guy and I know I've seen it before but I can't remember if it was on a book cover or somewhere else...  |
