Just noticed on Chris Delay's blog that Introversion have are no longer using the tagline "last of the bedroom programmers"

I know that tagline rubbed a lot of TIGsource folk the wrong way. Good to see that they've realized their slogan was starting to make people cringe.

He had a good reasoning behind it, although it's hard for me to believe he removed it for any other reason than to make peace, as it were, with many indie lovers (namely around here).

I never really cared anyway, I knew it was false but so what? I was never under the impression they wanted to snub or trivialize other people-it's just marketing (albeit quite bad marketing) Darwinia and Cave Story came out around the same time and that was my first interest in Indie games. I played Darwinia first I saw the slogan and thought, so what?

I am glad they changed it, and hopefully some people will get over their weird grudge with them. They also get a lot of flack, because Chris is insanely awful with money: buying limos, expensive multi-story flats, etc.

I hope Subversion turn things around for them, I've enjoyed every game they made. Multiwinia bombed so bad that it's quite sad to see them forced to put new IPs on hold while they finish up D+ while porting Defcon to the DS.

Wish there was more interest in Multiwinia, would be nice to get a game with some TIG folk one day.

I program in my living room.

Sometimes I program outside of a bedroom.  This is when I am commuting.

Bedroom all the way, baby! Maybe I should steal their tagline, seeing as they're not using it anymore. Although I doubt I'm the only one. I suppose my options are:

A) Change it to "One of the last bedroom programmers", or
B) Get all Highlander and start decapitating other people who program in their bedrooms. There Can Be Only One...

On second thoughts, that tagline sounds like too much responsibility. I can see why they dropped it.

I think they should just remove the word "bedroom" from it instead.

Maybe we could have an indie-programmer Robocode tournament!

Our tagline is, "ELEPHANT KISS? LAST OF THE BEDROOM EYES" so I'm glad that they removed it. It was too confusing, otherwise.
