Hey there. I'm working on a game to distract me from homework and other projects, so I might as well make it a good one.

CRAZ'D!

Not too much to explain really, but it is an abstract platform-adventure game. But if you have never played a platform-adventure game, I advise you play the Tutorial.

Here is the current version. The zip no longer has a password, but the game does, it is: 94Doctors

Keep in mind it is not finished, so any suggestions or error/bug reports are expected and highly appreciated.

Thanks!

I remember playing this before. I think it was on Matt Thorson's forum. Since you did use his source code (game maker project) I guess my memory is correct.

Is this a newer version? The old one I played was awfully buggy, this seems to not be as buggy..which is good. I liked it then and I like it now. It's nothing special and it tries too hard to be CUUHRAYZEEE but still, I enjoyed it.

You really have to do something about that file size though. 37mbs compressed? (In comparison to AUS which is 17mbs uncompressed) I've never used PX Tone but the file size is too large for such low quality tracks. Also, if you haven't already, strip out all of the unused objects/rooms/images/sounds from the gm source project (the old remnants of AUS) to keep the size of the exe down.

Still, I'll play the hell out of it when it's finished.  Beer!

This game does not use the AUS source. It is all made by me.

The insane file size is brought on by 7 or so old WAV files I converted to pttune's. I will definitely fix this in the internet version, maybe not on the disc copy.

Ah oops, I apologize. It just feels a lot like AUS in many ways so I just assumed. My bad Tongue

What? No I went back and added backgrounds to all the old rooms that didn't have them a while back. Unless that wasn't what you were talking about.

This game looks pretty awesome so far.  I enjoyed the visual style quite a bit.  The one issue I had is there felt like there was a lack of feedback when hitting obstacles or enemies.  At least some sort of popping sound effect when enemies are destroyed, but a knock-back when you run into an enemy would be nice to.  Other than that, I thought the game was awesome.  I particularly liked the giant rampaging monster that showed up, it lead to some great moments.

Ha. Thanks.

Yea, this version is older, in the new version I BELIEVE I have added sound and bouncing when you hit some enemies.

That's pretty sexy right there.

Also, I now have a PC to use again, so I might update this thing tonight.

New version!

The readme shows most of the new features. It would be nice if you guys messed with the controls a bit, just to see everything works with different controls. Thanks!

I tinkered around with it for about 20 minutes. I didn't notice any mistakes or problems. The game's looking pretty cool. Did you use your voice for some of the sound effects? They made me laugh.

Some are my voice altered. Some are unaltered. Others were made in SFXR. The boss start and nice work sounds are unaltered.

I had some trouble figuring out the mechanic even with the tutorial. For example, in the tutorial there was a ledge I couldn't jump to and I'm not sure why. Also, in the main game I managed to get stuck near a giant hunk of broccoli.

I like the aesthetics, though the music started to get a bit grating after a while at times. All in all it looks like the start of an interesting platformer.
