I was thinking the z-order of the big worm--its back is drawn in front of the tiles and its belly is drawn behind. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't gotten me looking for it, though.

The story for this is the main thing that stood out for me.  It is unique and sounds like an awesome idea for a game Smiley  This is shaping up to be the next Cave Story if you ask me.

Yeah that flipping glitch is what I was talking about. I wasn't even aware of it until I recorded and watched the gif in a browser, since it is at a much lower frame rate. I thought maybe people couldn't really see it since no one mentioned it but I guess I was wrong! Haha doesn't really matter since I will be fixing it anyways.

Damn, I'm late to the party. Tongue But what's the status of this? I hope it's still on, looks pretty cool! I know you have worked for so long on this, which is good, and hopefully, reason enough to finish it.  Durr...?

Yeah, this project is still alive! We haven't worked on the game seriously for a couple of months now, since we have been working on some other small projects and a few other things have gotten in the way. But development on this game is going to start up again after we finish up our current project, which should be finshed in the next week.

We have put a little bit of time into the game here and there, but haven't made any major progress. I'll post up an animated screen shot of one of the recent things I worked on. It's a funny glitch combined with some placeholder art, but shows off one of the newer companions:
