Also heard that the stealth bits are the low points of the game.
Can you name a game where the stealth bits are NOT the low points (except for Thief)? Metal Gear Solid

It was also not that hard like in other games. You could use your the power fist and aiming tool to quietly kill enemies (even the mutants if you have enough skill) without having too much stealth/noise trouble. Edit: I also enjoyed using mines in stealth situations.

There's also a bunch of mods that change how stealth works in little ways, like making it easier/harder, and more realistic. So... yeah, Fallout 3 and Modout 3, as I like to call it.

Well, its a Bethesda game, so its pretty good without mods, but mods let you have that extra flavor that you crave, or something.

Same here actually. I play it on 360 and it's a good game. I don't get all the bitchin'. Granted, I've never really played Fallout 1 or 2 (shame on me, I know), so that might have added to my enjoyment of it.

The bitching is that I payed 60 dollars for it and the core game is so flawed it feels unfinished. Granted there are some really nice parts, and it's fun to play (sorta), but it leaves an empty feeling and it could've been so much better. "Good" is only that. Good. 7/10. After it come Great, Amazing, and the fabled Awesome, which I've never actually played. Actually, wait, yes I did. It was called Day of the Tentacle and I got it for 5 dollars.

I've pre-ordered Borderlands through Steam. I set aside small amounts of cash for months so I could buy this game.(my Diablo 3/SC2/L4D2 pile have already been done) We should totally set up some Borderlands co-op on launch day through the TIG Steam group.

I know! this happens every year with this damn X-Mas thing that always happens. and this year is really bad.
The biggest thing for me this year is Co-op. I am all about co-op games and play as many of them as i can, and its been a growing trend lately that more and more people are giving up on the 12-year-old-racist-childish deathmatch thing and moving to co-op with close friends.
I just read an article about how Borderlands was sent to Death to fight amongst other games, then about 2 hours after that some friends i play co-op games with and i decided to skip it. Sadly, theres just not enough time and energy to get into it. I played Shadow Complex, then Batman, then Uncharted 2, and now i'm in the middle of Brutal Legend. I have plans set to play Modern Warfare 2 Co-op and L4D2 which will consume much time.
All (especially non-co-op) time consuming games get cut first! RPG's. anything that tries to justify its price with oodles of repeatative content and BS gets cut. 6 hours of great gameplay you say? I'm in! I like this new trend of quality 6-12 hr games.
Derek, what indie games have you be loving lately?

I notice no one has mentioned any of the upcoming Nintendo games: New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Another M... Although recently I have been playing Halo 3 ODST and some iPod touch games (Cartoon-Wars FTW!)

I realize there are a few reasons why I would want to get Wii. SMG is one of them. Also, in the near future I'm going to get all those good shareware indie games out there. Though not The Path nor Zeno Clash, because they probably have pizel shaders.

Can you name a game where the stealth bits are NOT the low points (except for Thief)? Deus Ex, unless that was an understood thing. Warren Spector did work on both titles.
