EPIC trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf06P-_1lkUI couldn't find a thread for this, so I figured I would do the honours. VVVVVV is Terry Cavanagh's latest game, an epic platform game all about flipping gravity. The game is huge, with 200+ rooms, and will be sold as shareware sometime within the next few months. Terry is selling this game as Shareware, which is a first for him. You can 'pre-order' the game in the form of a donation here: http://distractionware.com/blog/?p=1002

There were a couple of frontpage posts about this actually, and yup, I'm seriously excited for it. Looks just like my kind of game. I'm thinking about donating $20 so I can buy myself into the beta.

Looks like a cool game, the only thing bothering me is how overused that graphic style seems to be these days...

What? This game doesn't look like any game I have played "these days".. Anyways, I've been following this game for awhile so it's nice to finally be able to play it. Never expected there to be so many rooms either. Cheers

Yeah, the only recent game I recall that looks remotely similar is Time Fcuk.

This looks amazing! The gravity-switching mechanic reminds me of Metal Storm which is such a forgotten gem from the NES era. Eagerly awaiting the release of this...

Cheers And thanks to everyone who's helped out - I honestly had no idea how I was going to pay for things next month. I was just going to put everything on my very close to maxed out credit card and close my eyes really hard and hope things worked out - really, I don't know what to say. I can't wait to see what people think of it. It's almost finished!

You seem to be struggling with the bills Terry.
Is VVVVVV going to be full commercial or another sponsored game?

I meant the generic pixelly simple two bit color pallette it's using. Maybe I just don't play enough games and this reminds me of Love for some reason, but I've just noticed a lot of people seem to enjoy using this retro style of graphics. Not a bad thing tho.

terry's also not nearly as good an artist as he is a programmer, so I guess he's playing his strengths.

No it's cool. Game itself looks like it owns.
