Yes, that would be an improvement. An installer is like a black box, it does mysterious things to your computer. Even if all it does is create one file, I as the user don't necessarily know that. But the drag+drop thing is entirely in the user's control, and uninstalling anything like that is a matter of deleting that one thing. It's so clean and understandable. I am in favor of the user having an understaning of what it means to install a program.
Yeah, I had assumed that in general people thought the installer setup more professional; I'll do it the other way for V1.1 when it comes out...

Honestly, it probably depends on the audience, but I know most of the software that *I* download for my Mac does it the drag+drop way, and I'm not just talking about games. The way to make it look professional is to put an alias to the Applications folder inside the dmg, and a little non-interactive arrow between the icons pointing from the app to the alias. Look the dmg that comes with TextWrangler:

Hahaha: Cave Story-like PC game "VVVVVV" released

Sorry that just makes me laugh. Cave Story is nothing at all like VVVVVV to me... well, it's 2D and you explore... but that's pretty much the deepest comparison I can draw. Some people are hilarious Cheesy

Eeew, not nice in fullscreen. Try just maximizing the window. That doesn't blur the pixels. Also; impressive Smiley.

It's very nice in fullscreen. For studying the pixels precisely, then no it's not good in fullscreen.
Although, I probably shouldn't say that here.

Haha I love it when people say this yet still proceed to do it. Cheesy

Well pretty much everyone here hates any sort of filter on pixel art in games. Maybe I'm just use to old consoles where the games looked sexy on TVs with their scanlines etc.

I believe he mentioned in a upcoming path that he would allow the option to disable the effect.

Yes he did. A lot of bugs mentioned in this thread have been echoed over on his forums as well, by other people.

uh, the blurriness in fullscreen is not at all aesthetically appealing and i'm not sure how it could be construed as such. with pixels, crisp=better.

also: try the early prototype, it's fun and shows how polished v etc. was already after only around two weeks of work- http://distractionware.com/forum/index.php?topic=33.0

Oh god, I tried to do a pixel art, but all color control/consistency goes out the window when I try to do a piece this big. Oh well! Shrug

Yeah, I'm well aware of why you said it, and why you phrased it in the way you did.
