Now that I've actually done something, my main post is going to have to be a bit more organised. So:

Music

Sounds

Original Post:
Hello!

Just posting a thread here to motivate myself to work on stuff. I'll probably do some songs with SNES samples, some standard electronic stuff, and... something a bit experimental? We'll see how it goes.

Okay, no music yet, but I recorded some sound effects! I made all of the sounds using my mouth:

Get them here!
3x Pews
1x Large Explosion
3x Small Explosions
1x Ship Engine
1x Hum
1x Jump noise
1x Laser
1x Bullet
1x Monster noise
1x Sound for picking something up?
2x Whistles

Any more suggestions? I'm prepared to try and make any sound!

Mouth sound effects are awesome. I'll listen to these when I get home.

Okay, I threw together a quick track today. Very simple stuff; I want to produce a couple more like this, as well as the other things I have planned.

I'm going with 128kb/s MP3 and 96kb/s OGG for the time being. If anyone wants any different formats/bitrates, just let me know.

I'm currently working on a framework for songs using sounds made entirely with my voice. Making the sounds work has been long-winded and tedious; making them sound good is going to be somewhat harder, I think!

The sound effects are fantastic!  :D

And I love how the record static sort of twists into a drum beat.

Thanks John!

The 'drums' on Galaxy Sine were just me messing around; literally. I was beatboxing, slapping my thighs, and dropping things that I found around my desk, in time to the music. Then I put a load of effects on it a to make it sound like static.

That was the kind of thing I wanted to do more of for this competition; specifically, create sounds in unusual ways. Alas, I failed hard at doing much of note, so here's a song I lazily threw together using SNES samples.

Also, I changed all my links, since WillHostForFood died, and now they all point to Dropbox.
