... Nah, just kidding, it's some hi-res shit. __________________________________________________________ I'm not used to sprite editing but Assemblee is a nice idea so i decided to give it a shot. And as pixel art is not what i do best i started some hi-res sprite and i'll see where i go from there. Running : [sprite strip]Idle : [sprite strip]Jump : [sprite strip]Fall : [sprite strip]Hurt : [sprite strip]Crouch : [sprite strip]Idle crouched : [sprite strip]

Luv.
Great design, animation looks good except for one frame on the back leg's return -- looks like it's bouncing off the ground. I think it's frame 7 on the spritesheet?
What are you animating in?

Give the nose a little secondary bounce and you've got yourself a winner.

Thanks for your comments.
isaac> I think you're right, the back leg should be more bent on the 7th image. I'll take a look at this. Thanks. I animated this with Flash 8.
Rynen> Yes i did it with Flash. The legs animation is hand drawn frame by frame, the rest is decomposed in 3 parts (torso, arms and head) and animated using motion tweens. The flash file is actually four times bigger than the final sprite because Flash tend to mess up small bitmaps, so i export a large png sequence and resize the images with another software.
Fifth, Melly> Yeah, i thought of that, even making the "glasses" a separate element too, but i decided to keep it simple.

Sweet, gonna set up my character parts in Flash. I animated this idle in Photoshop, then realised... animating in Photoshop is painful! Also, good to see someone else is doing hi-rez sideon graphics. They will be combined into something bizarre, hopefully!

I modified the running animation, i think it looks better now.
isaac> You should try animating with Flash, yes. It allows all sorts of scale/rotation tricks, plus you can still animate by hand if you want (onion skin comes in handy).

The crouching animation is really jumpy, but its understandable, for it has to be a bit fast as well.

I especially like your production workflow, for it is modern, and the result looks really alive ! Knowing your very unique style, the backgrounds and/or various assets/vfx you'll probably make after this one should be highly demanded !
