Better Preview Images: ************************************* HanClinto has offered to host my entries here. A Fiero, Camaro, Pickup, and Hotrod. Some Castle Building Blocks. Two Airplanes with bombs. 2D Sprites, Tilesets, and More. An assortment of random, low-poly things. A couple of Textures to do stuff with. I forgot to include the .wings file so here it is. It seems that wings doesn't want to export texture coordinates for me any more. So here's my working file for the cars and other things so you can export them for yourself. The .wings source. --- Older Message --- ************************************* Here's the 2D: http://www.mediafire.com/?jimrmygkzmj************************************* And the 3D: http://www.mediafire.com/?jlqn5ttnkjg************************************* Next we have some more 3D things: Castle Building BlocksTextured CarsCrap!************************************* And last, I had started to make some textures meant to be overlaid on top of things to give an effect, or just to add texture. Only got two done, and wasn't happy with one of them. TexturesThey come in a wide variety of color adjustments. ************************************* No previews for the new stuff. Put a lot of work into the cars, so let me know what you think. --- Original Message --- This is what I did today. It's intended to be colored with the maths: White * Color = Color. I'll have it in several usable formats before the end.

That's very useful, I like it.
It would be cool if every artist offered a grayscale version of their sprites for easy recolouring. Would give the creators more versatility.

That's a real good idea that is, I might steal it for myself.

Awesome I love monochrome. That said maybe cleaning the background could help coders grab the sprites easier, why is there a grid?

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
There is a grid because that's how I made it, for preview purposes. The final version will be in a usable state.
Kaworu Nagisa, I want these to be freely used as whatever they can be, but I'm curious, where do you see an old bald man?

Looks good. I think 1-bit graphics will be really useful in this compo.

This style is fun. It's very challenging to portray details with only two colors. I think I'll do some effects before going to another character.

I very much like the gun guy style.
Houses are alright, but the smaller more subtle things (little grass, rocks,) are more easily usable for a variety of projects, and tend to look nicer in my opinion.
I'm definitely going to be checking out this thread again later to see what else you make.

Dude, I think these are awesome. I really like the idea of coloring them at run time, or on the fly in game perhaps... Hmmm... Awesomeness for sure!

I'm writing a tutorial on runtime conversion to grayscale, gamma correction, and gamma-correct tinting. I will try and post the link here when it's ready.

I was just experimenting with these tiles in mappy. I think you can safely remove the word "possibly" from this thread's title.

The houses have a strangely Earthboundish feel to them. Good stuff!

I finished up the 3D objects I had started. Each comes with a gray-scale texture that can be colorized on render. They are under 200 tris, made in Wings3D. I've also started to collect the assets into the final formats. Got any recommendations for a way of hosting the zip files?

I updated the first post with .zip files with the assets.
All made with Paint.NET and Wings3D.
Everything's greyscale so you can color them easily during runtime. Also all images are saved out, in several versions, as .png and .tga or .obj. Also the source .pdn and .wings files are included too.
