Well here is the latest. Lets take the tank train to work! Baked AO is a nice idea ...
Yeah, I was initially thinking of baking shadows and lighting, but that really doesn't give the part 2 people much freedom. AO gives makes an object feel very tactile, and compliments whatever lighting system is then put on top. I want to see more 3D out of the artists here as well. I understand 3D is much more difficult and time consuming, so I'm hoping there will be a lot more entries later in the month. Right now there are ... what, 4 threads? I think I should do some landscape type stuff too, like some tiles and decorations. I might field some requests if ya'll have any. (not specific very requests, more like general categorical requests) What I would really love to see in Part 2 are some 2.5D games! That would be such an awesome combination

Stylish. For those of us who are not going to do 3d games (backwards heathens that we are), can you give us renderings of this model from the side top and Isometric views?

That'll be a really big maaaayyybbeeee. If I did, which isometric angle? How big would you want them? Do you want them lit? I'm not gonna promise because I want to focus on making 3D stuff for 3D/2.5D games ... but later on I might try setting up a camera rig to do the job.

Very cool. The vehicle was completely white when I ran it. Did you forget to pack the texture?

Very cool. The vehicle was completely white when I ran it. Did you forget to pack the texture? No, it was packed. My guess is that you were either on an old version of Blender (current is 2.49b) or your computer didn't like the packed .PSD file (such as Linux). I've reuploaded .blend and packed the texture as a PNG instead. Ah sweet!! That's really awesome. Die blocks, die!
