Hey Guys!

Digipen's 3D platformer, Igneous is out! Has anybody else tried it? It's really fun!

Quote
Igneous is an action platformer where you play as a tiki totem trying to escape from a raging volcano. By running and jumping, players have to navigate their way through dark caverns, forge raging lava rivers and cross crumbling bridges to make it out of the inferno alive. With stunning graphics and intense physics, each level is a new challenge to overcome. Easy to pick up, but hard to master, Igneous is an adventure you won't soon forget! Escape!

Give it a go! I've been playing it all morning, it's super smooth and pretty good.

I've been playing repeatedly and I have to say, this is magnificient. The exhilarating feeling I get while rushing through the levels is simply extraordinary. The first level is misleading, you HAVE to get to the second level! You can also access other chapters through the menu, each of them being as incredibly fast and intense as the second one.

Amazing.

Defiantly fun as heck. Fantastic graphics, though a little light on the design side, rocks and fire are about all you get. Also, not being able to die from fire makes it pretty easy. Camera needs some work.

Runs fine on my Vista.

Holy fuck.  Droop

Everybody needs to take a lesson in coding optimization from these developers. I mean, honestly, holy shit there are games with one thousandth of the stuff going on that still manage to lag straight to hell. This game runs perfectly, even with everything onscreen exploding at once.

Pretty awesome, though sometimes it felt unfair thanks to the randomness of the physics engine and the debris not letting you see what's ahead.

i found it to be really frustrating and not in a good way like splunky. at times the world will collapse in a certain way that some blocks will block your view and the gaps will be too big. and is it just me or are the keyboard controls feels laggy.

Sure but I seemed to get into a roll where I semi-predicted where the blocks were gonna fall. Also there was a very small amount of memorization involved.

THIS is what 3d Sonic should be.

A friend of mine saw this game and said "What is this?" I replied "What 3d sonic should have been."

I'm having trouble running it on XP. It keeps saying that I don't have "vertex shader model 3" installed.

That's because your graphics card doesn't have that shader. You need to upgrade.

Speaking of another pretty cool Digipen game, there's Attack of the 50ft Robot! which is pretty awesome in aping the whole 1950's B-movie scifi thing.

http://www.attackofthe50ftrobot.com/

Pretty short and simple, but not bad. Not bad at all.

@Gilbo

Also, if your card DOES support it, updating/reinstalling your drivers might help.

I emailed the Igneous guys about the crashing issues I was experiencing and they mentioned that they were having issues with ATI cards (I have an ATI Radeon HD 4800). They're looking into but, but anyone else on ATI hardware here?

How strange then... maybe it is a driver issue on my part.
