My driver version is, I believe, 9.9. Not home to check.

Nice little game Smiley.  I wonder if they have any plans to expand it?  There's a lot of potential for the game engine.  After I finished the game I replayed the first level and discovered that there was actually more to it than "roll forward," and even though there wasn't much to see it was still neat to explore a little.  Alternating exploration and action sequences would make for a more solid experience, I think.

Amazing game. So short and yet so epic.

Hehe, the Sonic 3D comments amuse me, because I have to agree. This tiny game feels much more like a good 3D Sonic than any of them ever managed.

Also, lazors are cruise control for epic.

Finally got to play this game by installing and running it on a friend's computer. It's short but quite sweet and the amount of explosions and pixel shaders and general graphic badassery they pull off is pretty amazing. My only complaint is that due to the random level deformation you can often get caught in "unwinnable" situations. But still, it's one hell of a rollercoaster ride while it lasts.

Really cool and impressive game, but as with the experience it's naturally a short-lived amazement. It was annoying that I had to retry the second level about 20 times, because every other time I was either unable to see what's in front of me, or more rarely it was just seemingly impossible as my way was cut off. On a second playthrough I made it in 3 or 4 tries, so I guess before that I was just unlucky with how the level was "(de)generated".

Contrary to what some of you said, I'm not sure if this would work as a lengthier game. Then again I was never a fan of Sonic and I think I wouldn't even enjoy the good 3D Sonics.

The randomization is the main problem here, I have to agree, and an overabundancy or particle effects and debris that obscure view.

Still, if those elements were fixed, I could see this as a much longer game.

I'm not sure there is all that much randomization. I found that the key to beating the game on normal and most levels on impossible (I have yet to beat the final level on impossible) was memorization. If you know where the safe ground is, most random effects can't touch you.

Also, I totally agree with all the 3D Sonic comments (who doesn't?)

Obviously I'm not the person to ask, but from what I've heard at least one of the Wii games was good enough to be called "good". And wasn't the Dreamcast one also not bad?

I'm not sure there is all that much randomization.
I'm not sure, in the end my main problem really was not being able to see much. But, it did seem to me that in the second level even apart from rocks also single bricks could break the ground, so I think it's at least not fully scripted, if at all.

You haven't played Sonic Adventures 1 and 2?
Wink

As for this game, I'd fucking play the living SHIT OUT OF THIS FOR DAYS AND DAYS TO COME, but alas, I have a horrible computer(s)!

The game is very well optimized, but yes, you do need a graphics card with some shaders.

Is everyone playing this with a controller? I tried playing it with a keyboard, and the controls are terrible. Sad

I played it on a keyboard and it was fine for me.

By the way, you can use the arrow keys.

I was using the arrow keys. Every time I tapped left or right, my little dude would either hardly move, or jerk spastically in one direction or the other. There seemed to be no in-between.

Yo. Unleashed 360/PS3 was decent, despite the negative hype. The Wii version was much less decent, and is a completely different game.

Also, Sonic games weren't actually all about speed. Go back and play the classic Genesis ones everyone loved. They were more about flow than anything else; continuous speed came from mastering flow.

Then there must be a problem there, cause it was very responsive for me with a keyboard.
