I decided I'd try to get in to the contest. I made a simple character outline and a walking animation/pixel sheet thing. The first one is the character idle.



I've never seen it animated and would like if somebody could do that.
I'm having trouble with the Jump, attack, and death animations. XD
Feel free to color and use.

Oh, I did try to make death and jump sprite sheets, but they suck. Ask if you wanna see them.

As you can see, it doesn't quite work; the arms are fine, but the legs don't seem to be moving far enough; you've differentiated between them by shading one in, but it's not really enough. You probably need to add another frame or two where the nearest leg is actually crossing over in front of the other.

It's hard (if not impossible) to do sprite sheets for animated sprites without seeing them animated as you're working on them; I think, if you check out the Assmblee:Part 1 > README thread, there's some discussion of free/shareware applications that will let you do this. Hope that's helpful.

Hello this is Pencerkoff

It's pretty rare someone is so natural at walk cycles that they can just make them without reference.  This sheet has saved me a number of times.
