Don't expect much, I suck with the guitar and I'm a newb with the harmonicas.
Also, the recording quality is not very good. I don't have professional gear.

    Songs:
.
Harmonica short samples:
.
Jaw harp "Spring" sounds:
.
Miscelaneous:
  • Phobos winds. 0:16 MP3 - picked by the microphone "by itself" with a bunch of filters applied.
.
Not an asset but...:
.
JIMI!

Hey, good to see someone else trying some live musical recordings!

You don't seem like a newb on those harmonicas to me- I take it you're using ones in a single key, not the chromatic ones? Still, they sound a lot better than any of the plastic ones I've used. Good stuff.

2-H is really nice. It's got an odd rhythm to it but that's all part of the atmosphere.

Someone make some Country Fishing graphics, or a Jail Cell?

Smiley

Yes, I use the diatonics. 2-H is a work in progress, I have to fix it because it feels weird

Thanks for taking the time to try them out!  Well, hello there!

Best regards

Yeah, all of these are great. =D Runman proved this kind of music absolutely has a place in games (and not just an arty set piece or cutscene).

The guitar on the 2-h pieces sounds like it needs to be slowed down a few BPM, though.

Jaw harp "Spring" sounds:

YOU'VE GOTTA DO A SONG ON THAT THING. OR USE IT IN A SONG. OR SOMETHING.

Such a marvellous sounding instrument. When I first discovered it actually WAS an instrument making those quirky sounds, and not just a sound effect, MAN. Mind blowing. Kinda wish I had one. Do you have to stick the, uh, mouth-shaped part in your mouth? And if so, is it messy?

Also, other songs are cool. I appreciate the non-digital sounds. Makes me want to make some non-digital assets.

Yeah! I did also... I think I first found out when surfing the web looking for some Cowboy bebop songs (One uses it). And then looked for it on YouTube. There are plenty of videos but I liked

One day I was just walking around and saw it on a shop window... I had to buy it!.
(Luckily I recognized it from the videos I seen Smiley)

Actually is REALLY easy to use, I learned from using it.
You hold the wide part with your index and middle fingers and thumb, and press it against your teeth. Your mouth cavity works as a resonanse box (as an acoustic guitar's body does).
To change the pitch you must change the shape of your mouth/lips to affect the resonance.
Then with the other hand you gently strike the narrow center blade.

You then start finding out that you can blow or draw air to make it sound louder and more harsh, and become used to the shapes of your mouth for specific pitches, stop hitting your tongue, how to move fast without missing a stroke, etc... It's a nice instrument  Durr...?

I also really hope for real-life photos for backgrounds.
(maybe zoomed 2x to make them more pixely Smiley, it's hard to beat that habit)

I think I'll shoot some photos as well...you'll see Well, hello there!

Regards

I know it's getting old,

.

The recordings are lovely and awesomely indie. I would use it with the idea I have in mind, but I'm afraid that would make it feel way too much like Runman: Race Around the World.

That might not stop me tho.

But in case I don't make it, I'm uploading this, at least for the lulz.

Please keep the originals here aswell if you edit them... Wink and there might just be some lulz comming your way in a month or two  Grin

("""fireball""")

JIMI HEADS - FINAL RELEASE

I've made two formats:
186px2 and 93px2
If you want the bigger ones, go for rev1 or rev2.

They also come (the new ones) in 5x5 and single-row spritesheets!

Regards!
