QFT.

I died more times on that level than I did in the entire rest of the game.

only took me a few minutes, not as difficult as people are making out.

The key is to play while people are making out? Got it.

I love the presentation, the feel and everything, and I was all set to really enjoy this. But that first jump, it's just too far. Seriously, is this a hardware issue or are we missing something?

Missing something.

Man, I guess when you throw all the dick-tricks at people you see what people personally suck at. I didn't mind Pussy, but the  Angry Piece of Cake Angry...

Is it some kind of experiment, like the game modifies its own difficulty depending on the machine or something ? If it's just a platformer with nearly impossible jumps it's fine, just not my cup of tea.

I love you podunkian.
And I love you Cactus.

But this game made me want to punch your faces in!

I did enjoy myself, the pussy stage, which I thought was gonna be easy; and it was the first go through, but then it was just a pain in the ass.

AND THE ENDING WAS GOOD!

It was called Corruption;Death;Rebirth for me. As a matter of fact, non of the rooms in my version have the names people have referred to. My version has room names that elude to a poem of sorts and i'm assuming his version is the same... Shrug

It's interesting that the screenshots in the original post don't contain any room names.

also for the jump maybe you just need a running start? i mean, remember how in mario you had to run at least like 3 blocks before you got to a high enough speed to make certain jumps, perhaps a similar thing happens here, acceleration could matter

What's with the people who can't clear the first jump? Is it some framerate / CPU speed issue? I can clear it a hundred times both ways, no problems whatsoever.

the first jump is impossible

<3

Yeah, the first jump was impossible for me... I tried it and died many times with no hint of success. Hoping to slow the game down to a crawl in order to make it playable, I tried compatibility modes, starting with Windows 95 (I'm running Vista). The game seemed completely unchanged, but for some reason I could make the jump now, and I went on to complete the game (though it was still tricky, of course). I turned off compatibility mode when I beat it and I still failed the jump every time. I'm wondering what the hell this was... a bug?

Anyway, great game. Suggestions: checkpoint every screen, actually make it have a savefile.

I can't make the first jump, no matter how many times I try. The game mechanics seem to be dependent on Windows configuration and/or hardware, as sergiocornaga suggests.

Exactly my scenario. I want to see the rest of the game, but I cannot make it past that first jump. I've tried too many times already.

I'm convinced this is an art game, because there's no way to tell there's a game past the first jump other than people in this thread say that there is one, and there are screenshots.

I love the presentation, the feel and everything, and I was all set to really enjoy this. But that first jump, it's just too far. Seriously, is this a hardware issue or are we missing something?

Okay, Morden's gif clearly shows that the game isn't working the same for everyone.

I'll give Dungeon a shot once it's fixed.
