This is the only game that has made me cry, ever. I was under the impression it was a funny sort of game. Earthbound (mother 2) was really silly, although I think the final boss of Earthbound had more of an effect on me than Mother 3's (plus I accidentally spoiled it for myself, so I guess that ruins everything). Mother 3 has much darker undertones than Earthbound, but is still pretty silly and goofy overall. Earthbound has more charm, Mother 3 has more character.

The whereabouts of my USB flashcart writer are still unknown, however I managed to excavate some old cable that you connect to the GBA via your PC's serial port (boy, it really was the stone age of homebrew/handheldm piracy back then). So after digging up my old GBA SP and installing an obscure Chinese program from a CDR I was lucky enough to find, I had to wait a whopping 15 minutes for it to flash the ROM onto the cartridge. I've only played a little bit so far, but the game is really charming. Maybe I'll post more thoughts when I'm a bit further in. Also, thanks to R.D. Ein who compelled me to waste a free morning on this procedure with his incessant fanboyism.

I'd still rather play it on the hardware it was made for, but oh well...
Got myself a Gameboy Micro with Flashcard just for that. Ironically never finished the game for some reason though. I usually quit RPGs when I can't defeat a boss and have to start grinding because I hate that, especially when I backtracked a lot, fought every single enemy and didn't once escape from a fight up to that point. dude, totally finish it. you wont be disappointed.

We should all be dingoo buddies. Joined together by our A320 umbilical cord. The A320 is nothing but a poor man's PSP.
You mean it's more Indie.

So Chinese pirate plastic is "indie" now? Also, I'd wager there are more quality indie games for the PSP (most importantly ) than there ever will be for the Dingoo.

Well it's not really plot significant to be considered a spoiler, but okay.
Unless you consider LUCAS' ASS plot significant.

I like Earthbound more personally. Not sure why. faux-nostalgia? But yeah Mother 3 is awesome cant really say more that what's already been said.
Actually I think the bosses in Mother 3 were designed better. You really had to learn their behaviors whereas in Earthbound I don't think there was a single boss you couldn't beat simply using your most powerful attacks (except giygas obviously)
Also I always played as Lucas in Smash Bros Brawl so I had an attachment to him even before I played mother 3.
