Ha, this thread is pretty cool. I remember reading that a lot of people always saw Link to the Past's Ganon as a toad-like creature with its mouth open, instead of his robe and tiara above his head. (at least I think it's Ganon, I don't follow Zelda's plot all that much) If you're one of those people, don't worry, you are not alone. And no, I don't see it that way.

Same with me. La Mulana is a game with really weird looking enemies. For instance these blue guys . I mean, what the fuck are those things? I really have no clue. And what are these? Flying chili peppers? Flying sausages?

Almost forgot about Sonic's saggy tits for the Master System. To be fair, now that I look at the sprite closely it really doesn't look like it, but in my old TV the colors and shapes really mashed together. And it wasn't like I believed those were actually tits, but I just couldn't unsee it.

In the Sega Master System game Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, partway through the third area there's this weird little red thing that looks kind of like it's spinning around in circles. The thing is completely invincible, and I had no idea as a kid what it was supposed to be. I thought that maybe it was a strange little man holding a suitcase, or possibly a campfire... but nothing made any sense to me. It was only after I played Pocky and Rocky on the SNES that I realized that it was actually a bamboo shoot with eyes. ...At least I think so.

@Bones: I hadn't seen this, nor was I aware of it. Thanks for ruining Mario for me. Forever.
@Fifth: Looks like a pine cone if you ask me.

Haha great thread, I always see things like this in funny ways. I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw SMRPG's Geno with a big orange nose: When it was actually a curl on his hat, and he actually had a small nose beneath:

Geno was just one of those dudes I never even tried to decipher. I never did make heads or tails of that dude. That large image is actually the first proper look at him I've ever had.

Well, SMRPG wasn't exactly "pixel art" as much as rastered 3D models cleaned up a bit, so lots of the graphics in the game were pretty hard to decipher.
