360 degree shooter possibly with some zelda-like exploring if I have the time.

Yes. There we go.

From the screenshot, it looks like the 360 shooter part is done. On with the zelda!

I must admit, the words "Ultraviolent"  and "Kitty" caught my eye.  I really enjoy Zelda exploring type of adventure games (and the collecting/trading of Zelda too), looking forward to this game.  All the shooting and adventuring, not to forget the 'ultraviolence' too (with explosions even!)!  Looks like you have a found a great use for the kitty GFX.

Progress

Got saved games working, found a way to draw parts of a sprite in different colors (useful for aueft's monochrome sprites), and I have a good idea of what the game world will look like. What's everyone think?

I like your tile use, (which sounds dumb, if I drew the stuff - but good use of space, symmetry etc.) I'm glad you're still making this thing.  Hand Thumbs Up Right Hand Thumbs Up Right Hand Metal Right

I agree, the tile usage is really interesting. You are almost abusing them, but in a good way, to really make it look unique. I'm looking forward to zelda-kitty!

Wow. Good job, this looks nice. And that little transition between areas is neat.
