Some people report slow speeds, that's why on the page it says make sure you try the demo before you purchase.
But if you have a decent PC and you're experiencing slow-down, then something else may be the problem.

i have a terrible, five year old laptop, and i have no slowdown whatsoever with this game. the motion in the game is fairly slow, though, so that may be the issue.

I consider my 2 year-old laptop to be pretty decent, I can run any modern game I want with no problems. And I still experience some slowdowns in Saira. Let's see if the 1.1 patch helps.

Okay, so is this youtube video the speed everyone else experiences it at? Because I'm running at like half that. This is on a fairly new laptop. I guess I will need to wait for the 1.1 patch. I should have probably been able to figure this out on my own, it was very surprising to play what seemed like a very slow-paced floaty platformer after Nifflas' games have all had such quick fluid movement.

Yep, that's the regular speed. And as mentioned before, the 1.1 patch is already out by the way.

Checking again, I actually am already running 1.1 and was to begin with. I guess I don't know what to do from there.

I played a lot of this the other day, and although overall I like it, some things definitely bug me. The graphic style is great when it works, but I don't think it always does; hate to say it, but I actually think the first two planets you go are where it works the least well...not a very good first impression. Other than that though, I'm really glad that nifflas tried to experiment a bit with Knytt's formula and change things up a bit, while still making a game that's all about exploring interesting places. I think the camera mechanic is great, though still rather primitively used (which is expected, because it's not like it's a commonly-used mechanic in games). I'd love to see him make a far more sophisticated game more explicitly about being a photographer at some point; I think it would be fantastic! ...I say that too because some of the most fun I have is grabbing my camera and going for long hikes in Edmonton's river valley, and that whole experience of exploring the nooks and crannies of the place always reminded me of Knytt Stories. I don't wanna be a hating annoyance, but it seriously looks like he just made Knytt again... ? It's definitely not Knytt, though there are a lot of similarities. Having to explore the environments camera-in-hand is rather neat, and I think you experience the environment quite differently because of it. There are also areas that necessitate speed-running (definitely not Knytt) and one where you have to run between "safe spots" that refill your health that slowly diminishes when not there. And there are little puzzles strewn around everywhere; they're a lot like the little puzzles in Machinarium, actually.

It's Nifflas's birthday soon and looks like he's having a birthday sale. My birthday is in two days! To celebrate it, the price of Saira will be reduced to $12. It will be possible to buy two licenses for only $13.5 (since it is half my new age) but this offer will end on January 20. Then the $12 for one license will be the only option. http://nifflas.ni2.seperhaps those who tried the demo but didn't think the game was worth 17 will think it better at 12. I think the offer is two days from now.

It's a "spiritual sequel" to Knytt basically, what's wrong with that? Also, why is this getting so disturbingly little attention?

i won a free copy from somebody's blog a little while back, but i haven't played much yet. there's a bit of a backlog of unplayed commercial indie games i have to play right now. seems really good though.
