Rotations is a puzzle game about rotating tiles. Pair all tiles to adjacent ones by their respective colors. Those colors must directly precede or succeed the other in order to be a pair.

Rotations is a project that I've been working on for far too long. As much as I wanted to stop developing it, I couldn't let it go - it's grown on me. After months of refinement, the prototype has been completed and released and new goals have been set. I'll attempt to reach these goals by recording my progress here.

You can download the prototype on Game Jolt:

More information coming soon - it is a development blog. :-)

Rotations is available for Linux now, and there is a small update to every build. More information here: http://gamejolt.com/games/rotations-prototype/news/rotations-is-on-linux/10403/

Those rainbow circles remind me of a toy I had in the 80s or early 90s: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubik%27s_Magic

Thanks for sharing; I had no idea that this existed. However, I'm a bit sad that my game looks so similar to this and it's sometimes compared to the Rubik's cube. Have you gotten a chance to try Rotations? Feedback is welcome.

Yes, I downloaded it and had a quick look. To be honest, the game seemed too complex for me to learn how to play via a readme file. I spent a few minutes trying to wrap my head around it, then decided I'd try just starting the game and clicking around to see if I could learn it that way. I have to admit I gave up pretty soon though - puzzle games are not for me. Smiley

I realize an in-game tutorial is probably on top of your TODO list. How about a YouTube video that teaches people how to play, in the meantime? Or a PDF with illustrations? Anything but a wall of text in a readme.

BTW, I think the visual similarity to that Rubik's Magic thing is not a problem at all. Nothing wrong with conjuring up childhood memories, and I think it was a pretty obscure toy anyway. I really like your minimalist approach to the graphics. The game looks very nice!

Thanks for playing. I'm actually unable to update the game at the moment, but I did make a PDF for you (and anyone else who needs it) - the link is below. An update to the game and my first post on my progress in a new framework will be coming in two days. I hope this document helps if you decide to play again: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zidn721b3pkzv2b/Rotations%20Walkthrough.pdf
