We are an indie game studio in Seattle looking for a 3D Modeler for A PC/Mac title using the Unity Engine. We’re working on an engaging tactical steampunk game with strong narrative storylines. Contact us at [email protected] with your portfolio link and rates if available. (Or, for instance a basic rundown of the time it takes you / how much you’d charge for specific pieces on your portfolio site). Other duties include using particle effect systems and in-game art implementation.

Our needs include
  • Modular Vehicle Artwork, so pieces of armor/guns that can be attached to multiple Chassis.
  • Multiple pieces of sculpted terrain. These are mostly islands.
  • Normal Spec and Diffuse Maps
  • A handpainted/stylized texture style
  • Preferably LoD models that we can scale up and down
  • In-game art asset implementation
Required Skills
  • 3D Modeling and texturing skills (preferably Maya and Photoshop)
  • Strong game playing experience and background (Boardgames a plus)
  • Strong 3D and 2D skills
  • Excellent communication skills

The Ideal candidate will have
  • Experience with Unity and Substance Designer
  • Ability to work independently
  • Generalist skills like the ability to put together a shader, make placeholder animations, create basic particle effects
  • Ability to define, create, and drive multiple art styles to meet the needs of game projects
  • Located in Seattle

Final delivery of assets would include both the original source models/textures as well as a Unity Package with materials hooked in. For the correct candidate and based on the success of the title, this could turn into a full time position if both parties agree but it does not *have* to.

Nectar Games is dedicated to creating compelling and deep gameplay tailored to audiences who appreciate them.
