BROTHER ANDROID
IN DEATH A DREAM OF COLOR
SIDE A
1 A Beginning 3.26 a violent birth of shape & color in the void
2 What Happened??? 2.52 confusion & disarray
3 The Hospital; Your House; the Dark 6.16 vulnerability, trauma, & an unexpected inner peace
4 Holy Fear & Self-Loathing 4.26 philosophical confirmation of an overwhelming sense of disgust
SIDE B
5 A Gateway; a Clearing 3.02 Mk 14:35 a restless calm
6 Tree of Blood 4.34 excruciation
7 Things Get out of Hand 2.29 in which i realize i am not in control of my own life. Isa 45:9
8 In Death a Dream of Color 8.01 ???
Listen and/or purchase hereDownload for free here (256 kbps, no bonus tracks) Brother Android's second full-length album swaddles a vague religious concept in trappings borrowed from chiptunes, prog, metal, ambient, noise, and other things. It is dense, tedious, and appallingly pretentious.

Thanks, guys, i really appreciate it. And yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it. Chalk it up to me insisting on trying to subvert my basic artistic impulses at every turn... that can take a while.

I made an account just to say that I really, really enjoyed this. Possibly the coolest thing a game or piece of music can do is tell a story, and IDADOC really blends the two together nicely. In fact, I've gradually been forming a story to go along with IDADOC.
It's artists like you who make me feel driven to create and do.
EDIT: In addition, that's a lovely album cover. Who made it?

Yay, another Brother Android album to add to my collection. Tree of Blood sounds mad. Will crank it when I get home from work.

This album has been amazing.
So far The Hospital; Your House; The Dark is my favorite. So intense.

Been listening to this lots. The last song might be one of the best things you've ever done dormin-kun: wow you're kind of a dick, aren't you?

If you're seriously going to condemn art based on philosophical or religious differences, then there's not much separating you from any given short-sighted Bible Belt fundamentalist.

If you're seriously going to condemn art based on philosophical or religious differences, then there's not much separating you from any given short-sighted Bible Belt fundamentalist. didn't condemn anything, your argument is invalid look at it this way. a lunatic writes a letter to the editor of the local paper about his very valid views on events of the day, while in the same letter inserts a few seemingly unrelated sentences about his daily life with a giant flying neon walrus, almost as a side notes, with the air that everyone else should accept this as normal. his letter is printed because his thoughts unrelated to said walrus are thought-provoking and insightful. however, to some, the glaring issue that remains is that I think that we can all agree that not everyone would agree with the existence of a giant flying neon walrus, therefore it could be seen as inappropriate, at the very least, to be mentioning this probably imaginary, but almost definitely controversial creature. i have no problem with the religion of OP. i am just a bit bemused with being preached to while i am trying to enjoy his good tunes. his matter-of-fact assertions about a divine being that for all accounts i consider imaginary, make him look, in my view, frankly, silly. it's my prerogative to call that out.

Why even complain then? Even if he wanted to evangelize, (which I doubt is his intent since the references aren't even that overt) who cares? It's his art. I find Rastafarianism a little goofy, but I appreciate artists like The Congos MORE because they're earnest in expressing their passions. In the same vein, if your hypothetical artist feels strongly enough about the walrus creature to stick him in a work, he should. You may perceive the Walrus as imaginary and irrelevant, but this guy feels otherwise. Why must everything hinge on your perception of reality? Annnnyway, that's all I'm gonna say. Sorry about pooping up the thread.

You make a good point. But that's not what I'm about here. I just think it's tacky to preach on your bandcamp page. I don't want to be listening to your music thinking about your religion. It would be like going on about Flying Spaghetti Monster. It doesn't matter what deity. It cheapens the work. I think it would be even just as bad if it were a little tidbit expounding atheism on the page. It's just unnecessary.
