This post has been edited to reflect the change in the game's title to XIOBEAT.

I've been working on a dance pad game for windows/mac/linux called XIOBEAT (say it ZY-oh-beet). XIOBEAT is meant for use with 10-button USB dance pads (or game console pads with a USB adapter.) The game is based on freestyle music creation and supports choreography through a comprehensive dance gesture input system. Players will be able to share and remix song structures, samples, and dance steps of other players and improvise with them. (The game does not judge the player's step accuracy, but imprecise gestures will lead to imprecise sample triggering, so the player still must be accurate for the game to be enjoyable.) Future goals include USB camera and microphone support for the complete freestyling experience. Beta release planned for November 2010.

Enough description, here's the video trailer showing me do Freestyle mode:

What do people think? Nice socks eh?

Thanks

I think you need more exciting socks.  Cheesy

Looks pretty awesome. The samples are choose-able?

Indeed you can use any OGG, WAV, or XM files, with special additional features for XM.
I've got another fun video here:

The puzzle dance mode is not yet implemented, but I can't wait Smiley
