Sweet! I remember writing a long-ish post as pretty much the last one of the first thread. Unfortunately, before I ever got feedback, the thread disappeared. Anyway... good luck with the revival! What's new?

What's new? Thanks friend! A lot actually. Even though I'm hacking away at the old build right now, I'm working on a new one as well that has Terria-like procedural generation... in Construct 2! D: - - - Here's video of me horribly explaining the process!

Thanks! - - - On the left is the current new sprite... she is a mouse now. On the right is me working towards something a bit more high resolution... but I don't like it fully... am trying to get something more in line with James T.'s work : https://twitter.com/jtangc/status/660942657443659776

Looks very interesting. For someone who hasn't seen the old thread, can you describe what the game is?

I am liking the evolution of Lillian. She isn't perfect yet, but getting there. Looks very interesting. For someone who hasn't seen the old thread, can you describe what the game is?
The previous build just had Lillian throwing knives at some minor enemies. Here's a LP video of one of the early builds : I'll probably re-release the old builds and a few of the spin off games I made... one for a "flappy bird" jam, and the other fighting against that one company that stole candy crush or something... I think they were called King. ANYHOW, point being is there's been a few things here and there with Lillian throwing knives but I never really properly ran with the idea... so here I am running. :3

I need character design opinions. Left or Right? Why?

i'd drop the last design for the middle one here: something is a bit off in the newest one. It's like you reached the limit of minimal pixel art and further on you'll need to make more realistic anatomical proportions or more round proportions. I was charmed by the early build video, never expected this kind fun before watching it. Good luck on the project, the game seems fun!

I loved him in Matlock! i'd drop the last design for the middle one here: something is a bit off in the newest one. It's like you reached the limit of minimal pixel art and further on you'll need to make more realistic anatomical proportions or more round proportions. I was charmed by the early build video, never expected this kind fun before watching it. Good luck on the project, the game seems fun! If you look a little further there is the latest one... fixed what was looking weird on the one you mentioned. Thanks! I hope to have some of the old builds up soon. The real challenge is going to be keeping that fun while making it a larger game rather than just and arcade-ish mindless time waster.

I'm chipping away at a small Lillian space adventure, even if this indie go go campaign doesn't make it (would be a shame since I'm asking for so little), I might still follow through on this mini game. Anyhow, here's a rough knife throwing animation I started noodling with which I think would look great horizontally but wouldn't flow well if there was the full range of motion with the knives like in the original build. I dunno, I'm still flexible and just toying with things to get a feel for where I want the gameplay to go. Here's the IGG campaign if anyone wants to check it our or help spread the word : https://www.indiegogo.com/campaigns/lillian-gish-space-adventure/
