Hi!
I've been working as a translator for a company some months and I would like to start doing freelance work. I've just got 2 game projects to start(as a partner, without payment)
The part I don't understand is the contract.
How do you make? Do you need something else? a working license or something like that?
Also, how do you and the contractor sign or seal the contract, is it a pdf file?

PDF files are popular, yes.  Contracts aren't always necessary for bigger jobs; invoices will usually do fine.  If a lot of intellectual property is involved, though, I'd go looking for a template contract online.

A friend of a friend made a neat online invoice generator but it's basically unsearchable due to the sheer number of people apparently trying to make a living off the same thing.  So here's the template I use for myself.

Would have to kill you? D:
Thanks for the advice! But what is the standard way to use this document? Do we have to sign something, or is everything done via computer? Sorry for my misinformation about this topic  Shrug

Up to your employer really. If they want to make you sign a contract, they'll give you all the (digital) paper. Normally it's a NDA or something.

If not, just treat it like any regular transaction at a store - give them an invoice or some kind of receipt. If it's through a middle agent, like oDesk, they should probably handle that for you.

You could give docracy a try. Never used it myself though.

Wow oDesk looks really good, it seems to be a lot of work there, have any of you tried it?
I've just registered and made some of the tests.
Are there other good sites for freelancing?

My company regularly hires people off oDesk. It's kinda poor on employers, but all the better for you as you'd have less competent competition.

There's a lot of freelancing sites, but most of them so far seemed a little dodgy.
